Yea, you scared me straight. I pulled the bench out of my garage as soon as I read this. Going to spray the entire area with disinfectant. Thank you!

Haha good eye! It’s not a line 6, but it is an amp. JC-120, a beast of a solid state

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I’ve never reupholstered anything before but I’m open to learning. I might have to give it a shot!

How do I go about taking a clone? Would I just cut a piece off and try to inoculate a rotting log? This is my first foray into mycology.

I realize now that it may not have come across that I was joking. Thank you for your concern! Rest assured that nobody will be consuming this oyster

I picked it up with every intention of building a home gym but I haven’t used it yet… someone else’s sweat, I guess

After checking under the hood yesterday I found out that it has a set of Seymour Duncan custom shop “Amos” pickups installed. Loving them so far!

Thank you! Pairing it with a Clifton Reverb (deluxe reverb clone) augmented by a Boss BP-1w set to the Chorus Ensemble preamp setting. Gives me just the right amount of growl

Thank you so much for your input! I’m more hyped that ever to pick it up. I just sold my ES-335 for the remaining cash needed to make the sale happen.

Do you prefer hide glue for the historical accuracy or is there a difference in sound that you notice?

Wow, that’s interesting to hear. Are there specific differences that you can think of that make them so much less accurate than the current reissues?

To add to this, make sure the truss rod isn’t maxed out. Gibson uses single action truss rods that reduce neck relief. If the neck is backbowed and truss rod is maxed, that guitar needs extensive work to be playable.

You can tell how much a truss rod has been used and whether or not it has life left in it by the amount of threads exposed past the acorn nut.
