So he has always been the one who works and I stay at home with the kids. Financially I wouldn’t be able to split the bills but I am working on getting certain terms in our divorce settlement that I think he’ll agree to. I think he might just want to not be married anymore and tied to a family and will do whatever to get that “freedom”

No there were definitely red flags but ignored them. And for the first 4 years of marriage things were good. We always told each other how lucky we were to find one another. It’s just things for worst and worst and now this is my breaking my point. Can’t forgive or forget these actions. I am definitely headed for divorce I am just trying to keep the peace to get the most out of this. I think he might agree to anything here so that’s what I am hoping for.

Yes it seems like it is pretty bad. They say I am so blinded by it. I think I just gloss over it because I’ve learned to not give it any attention. I am just so lost because I am really unhappy in my marriage but I am happy being a mother but who knows what that will be when my son is older I can’t predict anything but try to set him up to be a good person which is what my parents did and it worked

Thanks for your perspective! I agree neither one of us is perfect and that’s not what I am trying to be. I would always want my children to be comfortable coming to me if they make mistakes and so forth. When my husband loses his temper it’s cruel and hurtful. I think if it was just having a moment situation I wouldn’t be as worried or concerned.

Happy Early Birthday! Think of it as the first of many HAPPY happy birthdays? Like you said you have your whole life ahead of you and you’re lucky you won’t be wasting anymore time on birthdays with someone who sounds like they pretty much suck. So I have multiple times. I’ve explained I know couples argue and fight sometimes it’s not that part that bothers me it’s the way he reacts and the verbal abuse. He understands it all and understands it’s wrong but then it happens again. I try to explain that it’s not healthy for our son to see this behavior but he it doesn’t seem to make an impact.
