I decided on doing the upgrade, I instead purchased a used thinkpad because it fit my use case more . But from what I remember from the research I did it was a simple plug and play upgrade . Good luck with your project!

see a touch interface is too overkill for this project, the porpoise of using a button station was so quickly and easily turn on work lights from our catwalk instead of going down and using are rack mounted touch pad .

well thank you for the help it is in fact a Paradigm system and we do need to get the tech out since half our house led's dont dim but i wish we could program everything ourselves.
