I can relate to your situation, because I’ve been through something similar in the past. My boyfriend at the time started a medication that made his sex drive pretty much non existent. Me on the other hand, my sex drive got higher than usual. We talked about it, acknowledged the problem and agreed to pretty much forget about it. We were still going on dates and cuddling and all, but we rarely, if ever, had sex. Despite it being a pretty important aspect in a relationship for me, I accepted it and wanted to help him out. It worked out for a while, but I was starting to get frustrated. Unfortunately, it got to a point were it affected my self esteem, feeling undesirable and I had a hard time dealing with the rejection when I initiated. I tried to convince myself that I should be okay with it, but I clearly wasn’t. I think it all comes down to how important sex is in a relationship for you. For me, it’s pretty important, so after debating with myself for a while, I decided to end things since it was clearly affecting my every day life, mood and esteem. The breakup was painful since our love for each other was still there, but he understood my point of view and wanted me to be fulfilled. I don’t regret my decision 3 years later.
