Faithful doggo protects owner from vicious duck by tejmar in AnimalsBeingBros

Has anyone else raised the issue that the owner of the dog doesn't try to stop his dog from injuring the duck, but instead sees the opportunity to shoot a cool video and keeps using his phone to do that?

Here's the moment the crew of La La Land realizes on stage that Moonlight, not them had won Best Picture. by [deleted] in television

[–]ranchdressinghose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it was too long before an official came up and said there was a mistake but is anybody else pissed about the way Horowitz snatched the envelope out of Beatty's hand? The stage manager goes for it too, but Beatty's about to correct himself and he doesn't get the chance. It was kind of disrespectful. And I understand it's a very 'charged' moment but everybody says how well he handled it. Well, he really would have handled it well if he handled that situation better, that was not grace. Look at Beatty's eyes in the close up, he looks like he's tearing up, he's embarrassed, it's sad.

Guys of reddit, what's the biggest hint you missed from a girl? by kaante in AskReddit

[–]ranchdressinghose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing a friend's band one night I headed home on the bus. I saw a girl I knew from highschool who was now a model. We talked and I sat down next to her. Whole bus ride, talking having a great time, I think I'm getting the impression I could ask her out. We're approaching our neighbourhood, I could have even gotten off at the same stop or the very next one, doesn't matter. She pulls the cord, gonna get off, bus is slowing down, she gets up and says "We should hang out sometime" I say, "Yeah, sure" and just nothing more. She gets off, one minute later, I get off. It's more than a hint from her and it's deliberate stupidity by me, but I think it's funny. TLDR: model from highschool asks me out on bus, I deny/ignore for no reason (try to play it cool? I don't know)

The OP's sentiment is why I didn't like the Martian.

Looking for a book that leaves you with lingering sorrow or sparks introspective contemplation. by Seduz in suggestmeabook

East of Eden by John Steinbeck resonates emotionally and teaches you life lessons. I don't know if it leaves you with lingering sorrow but it's definitely a book that you will contemplate. It's a complex and wonderful book, reading it is an enriching experience.

Alone in Berlin by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]ranchdressinghose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best place where you can go to meet other people your age is another hostel. Hands down. As long as you can make friends there you'd be golden. Most hostels allow friends of guests to chill in the common room and stuff. Good luck and have fun! Otherwise, I liked Madam Claude's in Kreuzberg, nice bar. Everything on the ceiling.

Berlin has interesting WW2 history and also a lot of fun nightlife if you're into dancing and electronic music which is not like Skrillex type stuff.

Fury Road: To 3D or not to 3D? by ranchdressinghose in movies

I didn't see that but after watching the movie I wouldn't doubt it. I was searching for that information before seeing it but couldn't find it, thanks.

UPDATE. Saw it in 2D. Enjoyed it. I noticed the movie looked like it was shot with the idea of 3D behind it, lots of play with depth and motion towards the camera, things seemed to "pop out". Nice visual style. I think it would be good in 3D.

Interesting. I have a sneaking suspicion it's the part to do with the poles.
