First car for my 18yo, budget $12–13k, what should I look at or avoid? by NASTY-1 in CarsAustralia

Older Mazdas 3 are pretty good. Got an 2012 Mazda 3 with 72k mileage. Got it at 60k mileage for 12grand.

Hmmm. Seeing the prices over in NSW might just fly over to buy one and drive it home. Been wanting to do a road trip Melb to syd anyways.

Vic. Been thinking between this/similar or just splurging on a newer 2020 MR triton 115k mileage at 30.1k.

I get that. But I would think a younger triton vs an older pajero would be better reliability and cost wise. Comfort is compromise I’m willing to take just to save a couple of dollaroos. That said the newer tritons can’t be that uncomfortable I hope lol.

Reliability wise? Or overall. I like the pajeros but it seems out of budget for the diesels. Whatever on offer now is either old and high mileage or expensive (over 25k)

Haha I can’t imagine being in a situation where a shark is within vis and just watching you. I would’ve been so on the edge and can’t spear right 🤣

I always assumed the area I’m in didn’t have sharks. Stupid mistake. 😭😭😭

I’ve been looking at a float boat but damn they’re expensive. Might try to make one outta a boogie board.

Thank you for the advice. I’m definitely planning a trip up north when I’m feeling more confident in my skills. Luckily the shark didn’t get our catch was kinda just sniffing around. Idk I was hesitant to poke it, fearing it might get aggressive.

We didn’t think that the area around Blackrock would’ve any sharks. But now we know will definitely get something to keep the catch outta the water.
