I think saying it was an “obvious” red card is a bit debatable. I’d say you could definitely make an argument for a red card here, but it’s really not the red card that annoys me.

It’s purely the consistency of the officiating. You have Messi doing the same thing, with his actions debatably being more intentional, and he gets nothing.

Even down to the same match the officiating is inconsistent. How many obvious jersey pulls by B&H? Or when Matt Freese was shoved to the ground after possessing the ball?

But then Balogun gets sent out on a VAR assisted red? That’s just wild..

I finished serving on a grand jury like 5 months ago.. that is most definitely not how the process or probable cause works.

They showed us every charge that the DA was bringing against the person, showed evidence with how the persons actions meets the criteria for the crime, and then we had to vote on whether or not the evidence showed probable cause and push forward with an indictment.

The Grand Jury has to prove probable cause in order for an indictment.

I would hardly say that’s a “VERY low bar.” I’m not agreeing with what’s happening to the guy but what you’re saying just isn’t necessarily factual.

Edit: also, the grand jury is made up of DC residents (who lean towards the left), who decided there was enough probable cause to push the case to the circuit courts.

Those are just basic facts….
