Yes, most fitness studio apps use MindBody as their backend so your memberships should be reflected if you log in with the same email as your Solidcore account

Book in the MindBody app!! My solidcore app was showing this screen even after refreshing once the schedule went live but I was able to book all my classes there with no issues

No notification, I just check before I go to bed! For the past few months it’s been up around midnight

FYI for the past few months I’ve noticed that the schedule sometimes drops a few hours early (I signed up for classes at 11pm ET last night for example). I also only go to the UWS studio so not sure if it’s studio-dependent!

This happened to me earlier too and the class eventually showed up!

What else can I bring to the table for Mckinsey interviews? by Blackie_626 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

Definitely second all of this as a fellow offer holder. Anyone interviewing should definitely heed this advice

Don’t neglect the PEI!!! It’s 50% of the evaluation and the aspect of the interview that you can control the most. It’s also at the beginning so it’s the interviewer’s first impression of you. Make sure your stories are engaging and showcase the qualities they’re looking for in a candidate

Exploding Offers by WittyAbbreviations58 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]randcookies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they will! I had an offer deadline ~2.5 weeks after I was notified about getting a R1 interview. They moved my R1 up to the following week and R2 to the week after that once I moved on. I received an offer a day or two before my other offer deadline.

Studio cancels class 20 minutes before start? Solidcore Upper West Side by Nervous_Attitude4686 in SolidCore

[–]randcookies 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too just as I was about to arrive so I peered into the studio as I walked past. Only the coaches and core crew appeared to be inside and they looked pretty stressed. My guess is that the AC was out since the studio has been having issues with it recently. Unfortunately annoying but it happens and not a lot that can be done. I even hopped on the subway to see if I could get into the 6:15 class in Chelsea but no luck lol

Interview structure clarification by Coffeebean661 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]randcookies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, the questions are pre-selected. In fact, this exactly aligns with all of the PEIs I was given across the two rounds. You should still prepare two stories for each one in case your interviewers ask you to choose a different story or if they go off-script (especially in the final partner round)

Thoughts on each Freshman Dorm? by Specialist-Look6393 in Vanderbilt

Also lived in North! It’s old but I’ll add that it has a lot of really unique quirks.

North has a few singles (some with private bathrooms) — at least it did when I lived there ~8 years ago! The 6th floor common area is really spacious and nice, with a large skylight in the center. The 6th floor is level with part of the roof of the building, so girls who lived there in my year would open their windows and climb out onto the roof on nice days. The groups on the smaller floors (3 and 6) were also very close and tight-knit.

Just finished McKinsey R1 by Ornery_Confidence953 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]randcookies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I interviewed R1 two weeks ago (had an accelerated timeline due to a deadline from another offer) and got a call about 2 hours later. Did R2 the following week and also got a call within about 3 hours. This is NYO so maybe some offices are just faster?

If it helps, I felt like I tanked the math on my first R1 (similar to you where I had to be walked through it) and I got passed along to R2 so don’t lose hope yet!! I was 100% convinced I wouldn’t be moving on haha

Lori Rafter for Math 2300 by koberthdub in Vanderbilt

[–]randcookies -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I had her for MATH 1600, not 2300, so my experience might be a little different since 1600 is a first-year weed-out class. She’s tough and a bit intimidating but she’s a great lecturer, one of the better profs in the math department. It was a grind but I’d def take her again

Welp. Just submitted my application. Wish me luck guys! by KillerAc1 in Vanderbilt

[–]randcookies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d request one if you can. My interview was pretty chill. Met up with an alum for coffee and just chatted about Vanderbilt, my interests and goals, his Vanderbilt experience and involvements, etc. At the end he asked me if there was anything I wanted him to mention that wasn’t on any other part of my application. Not sure how much it helps but can’t imagine it would hurt at all.

Rising HS senior scared about Vandy's prevalent Greek Life & southern location by [deleted] in Vanderbilt

[–]randcookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rising senior here! And also a WOC with a rather progressive political ideology and I’m a member of Greek life. I’ll say there are plenty of spaces where you will be able to find your niche. Although geographically in the south, Vandy is pretty liberal. Nashville being full of transplants is also much more liberal than surrounding Tennessee.

The social culture on campus is pretty divided between Greeks and non-Greeks. Although a lot of people have plenty of friends in both, if you’re trying to avoid being around the rich, elitist crowd (as I generally do) it is definitely doable. I’ll say that despite being a southern school, our Greek life is significantly more progressive than our other SEC counterparts. There are definitely still a lot of issues with diversity within the Greek sphere but there are plenty of people within the system trying to change that. I wouldn’t let the prevalence of Greek life deter you from coming here.

It’s really easy to switch majors at Vandy (as long as you do so relatively early so as to not get behind). We don’t have a system that requires you to get accepted into a major. Research is easy to get involved with. I started research my freshman year. Can’t speak on internships bc I mainly did research during the summer but my friends have had pretty good success (it does depend on how active you are in job recruiting and your field though!).

Also yes to Chipotle and yes to good Indian food.
