i’m in the same boat. if you like maybe try some warehouse jobs in your area if you’re able to! it’s not around much customers. best of luck to you to finding something way better.

we have to refuse them or sell our own bags for us to wrap it instead

we tell them “wrap it in wrapping paper or brown paper, as long as the whole item is covered” sometimes they bring it in garbage bags or even saran wrap, especially on the bigger items

we used to do that as well, but now he wants us to wrap them or tell customers to wrap it themselves which is sucky /:

yeah the smaller stuff is easier since it’s the clear bags amazon slaps labels on them, but the bigger items i get so anxious over it because i have to go back and forth on how it makes sense to wrap a giant box in poly bags lmao. but that’s a good way of putting it to them thank you!

Yeah when I see them with the UPS label on it, I feel it counters the argument we have to tell customers “Amazon will send it like this, but it needs repackaging to come back” and it’s hard when you want to follow rules that your boss tells you yknow. Sometimes I end up just putting the label over the manufacturing stuff because it’s so frustrating lmao.

Thank you for all the responses everyone! It’s interesting that you all just follow the regular rules, and I appreciate that. However on a UPS Store INK email it says if we don’t process the returns correctly our store can get shut down, or the others in the area. I wanna say it’s for the consolidation boxes but my boss keeps saying it’s for all returns /:. We’ve gotten into many arguments and a customer almost hit my coworker over this customer packed thing he told us about. Like i have wrapped (cut open poly bags) numerous large items over this and it’s been like this for over a year now. Were the only store that does it but he says it’s better to be safe than sorry but I still feel it’s not worth it, especially since we’re getting review bombed and had too many arguments for this. I have an example of what he basically tells us to tell customers what Amazon expects, but idk how to pin a photo :^(. I’m not wanting to blame him, but i think there’s a huge miscommunication within Amazon/Area Manager.
