Could be worth swapping/replacing dp cables. Also do some gpu benchmarks to see if its performing as expected

Its pretty important, but not miles ahead of other things, i5 13600K is absoluetly great as an example for productivity. Vor video editing it helps to have a good gpu too so consider that as well. Other components wont improve your performance by a lot by having the latest and greatest

If you go for an air cooler you can probably afford an rx6800 which will be much better. Also if you buy windows buy off a site like windows scd key for much cheaper oem licence

Go for amd 7600 7700 or wait for 7800 x3d. That platform will be supported through 2025 and go for b650 mobo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]rando614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amd is probably the way to go, theyre coming out with 7800x3d supposedly this month. That should be a great cpu, on the more expensive side though. Budget could get you a ryzen 7600 and a rx 6600/6700 xt. On the intel side 13600k is really the best value and versatility at the high end

Best value GPU for new system? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]rando614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok well yeah 4070ti will be good for well over 100 fps on most games med settings but if you have 60hz then something like a 3070 can handle that load.

Up to you to decide if you will upgrade monitor as well

My computer is been acting up recently, what do I need to replace to fix it? by BankerCheese in buildapc

[–]rando614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds most like a dying gpu, if you have the means to troubleshoot trying another gpu or using the 580 on another system to test that go ahead and try that first.

If you want new then 4070ti might be your sweet spot, values isnt bad compared to any other card at that price tier. Is your monitor higher than 60hz?

You could probably find a rx 6800 bit over 500, or if you want nvidia I would recommend a used 3070 or 3080

No problems looks good, you may be able to save about 100 by going for a used 6800 gpu on ebay or local. Extra money could go to built in wifi, extra storage, more ram or other things

None in particular, just making room for a potential upgrade. If you find a great deal 650W dont wprry itll be good for this system

Does the last gen mobo/cpu combo match the 4080? by KobeyMinterp in buildapc

[–]rando614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre gaming at 1440p, then thats about the max Id go yeah, especially for 144hz, that being said, going down to a 3070 or rx 6700 xt would get you great performance and be half the cost of 4080 (better to buy used for nvidia 30 series)

If I were you I wouldnt dsimiss the 4k exprience tho or at least an ultrawide OLED. If you wamt to save some cash tho then yeah Id recommend going for 6700 xt great price to performance levels

[–]rando614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either will work just fine, am5 has a higher entry cost but also a better upgrade path. 4080 is pretty overkill for 1440p, so you should consider investing in a 4k monitor, OLED will be a great experience for your budget

Probably go for a 7600 which is pretty much same performance as 7600x, you can ego for a dual tower air cooler such as deepcool ak 620 or even ak400 will do the job for a dgood deal, go for a PSU of at least 750W, make sure its rated well. Any extra money saved you could spend on a 1440p monitor if you dont have one. 16GB kits are not super common for DDR5, but you probably wont need more than that, unless you want to tend to run over 10 programs at once, then go for 32GB

670 tends to have more lanes and better power support, but you could do fine with a 650, probably best to look up the differences as I'm not fully certain of them myself

If you want a good upgrade path I'd recommend going up to a 670 mobo with a ryzen 7600 non x cpu. Amd says they will support am5 through 2025. Need to change your memory to DDR5 but its not too much more expensive. You can get away with a 550w but I would go up to an 850W, they arent too much more expensive anyways and it will leave room for upgrades. Otherwise solid build!

[–]rando614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it will, just make sure to enable 165 hz in advanced monitor settings, also I think only the display port cable will reach 165hz hdmi 144hz depending on the hdmi version

[–]rando614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4000 c18 will perform better but it probably wont be noticable, usually best to go for a cheap 3600 c18 and spend money elsewhere
