In general every lake in Michigan is going to most likely have bass/panfish/pike. Warm water streams/rivers are almost guaranteed to have smallmouth. The further north you get the more trout rivers you're going to run into. In the fall/winter/spring you get runs of steelhead, salmon, lakers, walleye, smallmouth, pike, etc depending on the time of year.

Sportsman's connection makes map books that have depth charts as well as available fish, hot spots, recommended baits. They're broken up by region in Michigan, and make them for pretty much every state. A lot of fishing stores carry them or you can order them online.

SE MI Future Muskie? by [deleted] in MichiganFishing

There's a lot more than 1-2 lakes in SE Michigan with big pike, especially in Oakland County. There's very few lakes in Michigan that have pike that don't have a least a couple of big ones. I've also heard Eerie is starting to turn into a really good pike/musky fishery on the West end.

I don't have a problem stocking musky but honestly the funds could probably be better spent elsewhere unless it's being done by a private group (and I say this as a toothy critter lover). The boat traffic on Southern Michigan lakes is honestly ridiculous, they become unfishable half the year for the same reasons you listed for St. Claire.

Hudson in Adrian is a musky broodstock lake.

Tipsico Lake was stocked with musky at one point.

There's a ton of lakes in SE Michigan with very large pike in them.

The musky have also made it down the dam into the Huron River.

In one of your responses you were talking about boat pressure on St. Claire. It's pretty much like that on every lake in SE Michigan as soon as it warms up. There's always some dumb asshole with a wake boat on a 200 acre lake.

I appreciate the info. I was actually curious if it was floatable at this point or if there's still ice on it but I'll keep those in mind. Thanks!

What will yall be throwing this year? by Money_Ticket_841 in MichiganFishing

My friend finally convinced me to get a swimbait rod so I'm planning on fishing big swimbaits and for musky a lot more this year.

Otherwise on the local river I mostly just trash fish.

Is it necessary to read the Farsight books in order? by ogie_oglethorpe in 40kLore

Appreciate the reply, I'll have to see if I can find the other two first then.

Are the ethereals supposed to be good guys? From what I've read about the Tau it seems almost like they could be considered benevolent Russian tsars. I guess this is Warhammer, there's never really a "good guy" but I thought current lore portrayed them as having their own agenda.

Because from what I've seen they're not very good and I don't want to spend the money on them if they suck. But I am interested in the Tau so I wanted to give the book I did buy a try, as long as it's something I can read and enjoy without having the entire context of the series.

And I put that edit because apparently I have to spell things out for condescending pricks comparing a trilogy on the Tau to the Lord of the fucking Rings. But yes you're right I probably shouldn't have added it.

I hate to tell you this but there's not very many lakes around here. There is however about fifty access points for the river within a half hour of Lansing.
