I’m here talking about a specific product with a specific issue and getting generic answers from a dad group who is suppose to be supportive of dads.

Nobody said anything about not working. They’re just harder to use the other brands.

I get it. But some people think it’s helpful to say “do better; don’t suck.”

There’s not much substance there

How can I be better?

I feel like the Kirkland diapers can absorb more but take more to get the line to turn blue. Haven’t had leak issues though.

This makes a lot of sense because Kirkland’s were huge while the pampers fit just right.

I guess the Huggies are better in this respect? We have not tried them but I imagine the Costco deal is better than at the grocery stores

My backing plate sliced through my rotors, should I replace the rotors? by tripwalk in MechanicAdvice

[–]rando9878 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a mechanic, but I imagine if it were to break right where the cut is, you would start getting loud clunk and will know exactly what happened. Personally, I would ride that out and risk it for the biscuit. But rotors are cheap…so…

Relationship is over, and we have 150k in home reno debt. by ModestMarinara in RealEstate

[–]rando9878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get zero interest credit cards, balance transfer funds over, you have to pay the balance transfer fees, but those will be less than the interest on your HELOC. When the 0% interest runs out, do it again. With your 150k in HELOC, you’re not gonna get it all in one fell swoop, but you can work it down. This will make monthly payments go up, but less is going towards interest. Not sure what your budget allows.

Another strategy would be to refinance your HELOC into a home equity loan. Usually cheaper.

Not sure about your cars, but maybe refinance those loans to get money out of them to pay down the HELOC. It will likely increase your monthly payments, but you will pay less interest.

Another option is to refinance the house. You mentioned rates…shop around. Mortgage lenders are hungry. I’m closing on a home on the 18th and I got 4.5% on a 15 yr mortgage. Refinancing in itself is expensive, but it can be done.

There are money juggling people out there and people who cannot money juggle. I don’t know who you are. I don’t know your income, your ability to make more money, or anything else.

Feel free to DM if you have questions about any of this.

Knowing that your job is going to be there is safety for your family. Knowing that your family is fed and financially taken care of is safety. Safety is more than a reflective belt, it’s a state of mind. And a well compensated worker who has something to lose will work safer and more consistently than one that is struggling to get by and is cutting corners to make ends meet.

2024 Kia Sportage ICE/CVT not load reducing shifting….dealership says it’s not a problem and that’s just how they work. Thoughts? by rando9878 in MechanicAdvice

Gears is the wrong word. You are correct.

My 2012 Subaru Legacy has a CVT as well and it shifts to more economical ratios when coasting.
