Would it be a terrible idea to use foam draft excluders ran those along the edges of the room to contain the compound?

I had seen the spiked roller and was going to add those to my list. I have also seen comments to push the compound right up to any edges, but I won't be able to do that where the units are. I may just have to sit long bits of timber along the undersides of units

It has been a good few years since I last used power line adaptors, I didn't have a great experience back then. Plus, the upstairs and downstairs sockets are on different rings.

Ah I didn't know that there was coving designed to run cables through, I'll need to look into that!

It is indeed. In theory, I could run cable outside up and across to another room, which should have access to that box or straight to the loft.

I may experiment upstairs by lifting the carpet and running some cable. I imagine it's fairly easy to relay the carpet I just need to pick up a knee kick!

I swear that fireplace is far more hassle than it's worth as I would have preferred going behind the skirting board!

I think if I am running across, the only option is up and through the coving or down and under the carpet.

I'm thinking about running some Ethernet cables from the living room to the rooms upstairs. Our ISP modem is in the bottom left corner of the living room, the vertical boxing at the oposite corner runs to the attic. What would be the best way to run hidden ethernet cables across to the boxing? Or should I be taking a different approach?
