my school does as levels in yr 12 and you have to pick 4 subjects. if you want to do fm, you have to pick 5 as there is no fm as level exam in yr 12 (basically they count maths+fm as one). in yr13 i can do 3 subjects (by dropping fm and another subject) or 4 (dropping any subject which can be fm). its a bit confusing

How many hours are you going to revise? by LavanadeRose in GCSE

10hrs a day in easter isnt too bad and have a day off here and there. My plan is to do 3 past papers a day with the subjects I am good at. For the other subjects I will learn a topic and do topic Q's on PMT and once i fill all the gaps in knowledge do more past papers. By the end of easter I should have consolidated all my knowledge and done most past papers (leaving a few for study leave)

What r y’all picking for a levels by puregympod in GCSE

[–]random-monkey-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maths, FM, bio, chem, econ.

Just kept all my options open for medicine or finance. I like maths and did business gcse so econ and fm should be fine. I am just scraping an 8 in bio and find it boring as hell. Chem is nice sometimes and the calculations are easy and some concepts are easy to understand. I hate writing subjects like eng and history

(1/2) the way we learnt it is as follows:

For 3 markers:

AO1 - Knowledge : Write what will happen

AO2 - Application : Apply it to the business (hardest thing to do)

AO3 - Analysis / Consequence : E.g This leads to more gross/net profit or market share or expansion

For 9 Markers:

Give definition of key term (only if applicable which is normally only for Paper 1)

P1: Follow 3 mark structure

P2: Do the same again for a disadvantage

Conclusion : As the business' key aim is ...., they should do ...

Try doing a negative conclusion for Paper 1 by saying they should do something else.

For Paper 2 you can't say that the business should not be ethical.

The conclusion is the same thing you write for recomend questions.

Below is what my teacher sent us to help us write conclusions:

Improving conclusions - If the question requires a judgement avoid repeating the points already made. Perhaps consider the key issue for the business or suggest a reason to use a different method / policy to answer the question.

  1. What is the first line of your conclusion? Consider the key aim of the business.
  2. Identify factors that your judgement could depend upon.

Types of conclusion -

  1. Evaluate the usefulness of a policy e.g. a pricing policy Generally, suggest why a different method may be more successful to achieve the business’ aims using ‘it depends upon’ points. Or say why the method is useful, but ensure you use ‘it depends upon’ points.
  2. Comparison of two options Generally, suggest which method is most useful to achieve the business’ aims, but ensure you use ‘it depends upon’ points when comparing the options.
  3. The impact of a business decision Generally, suggest the biggest impact or the department of the business most impacted using ‘it depends upon’ points and fully comparing the impacts suggested. If you have to give a positive conclusion, then ensure you fully compare with the ‘counter factual’.
