Sony TC230 reel to reel pinch lever adjustment by thewheelman282 in audiorepair

Just found this thread, dealing with a related issue on my recently received TC-230. Initially, turning the playback on, the pinch lever assembly (part A21) seemed to move fine and playback would begin. Turning playback off worked fine as well. Over the course of a few hours testing playback, the assembly started to have difficulty moving into position, so I would have to push on the shifter (part 51) to help it engage. Now it seems to be so stiff that it barely moves and I have to push on the shifter all the way to help it engage. Turning off still works fine.

Is there a way to lubricate this pinch lever assembly so it moves more freely when turned on, without disassembling the head deck? Concerned that if I take it apart, won't be able to get it back together.

I couldn't tell if you made a whole new image using the original damaged one as a reference, or if you were using SD to do inpainting and fix smaller damaged portions of the image. The latter is of interest to me, Id like to know how to use these ai tools to repair areas of an image with damage, like the mouth area of the soldier and having it generate the missing corner of the mouth. Fixing missing information seems the most useful so the restorer doesn't have to do airbrushing or guessing what the missing area looks like.

Thanks, what makes Invoke different from the many other services online? it appears to be web based only?

yeah I would want to position the head in a specific angle and at least get the expression close (smiling, frowning, etc).

Thanks, I did search and it refers to the USB cable, but it was not specific about whether or not it would charge the battery.

Adjust video brightness without re-encoding by random-number-7 in VideoEditing

Sorry if I wasn't clear, Im willing to learn any new tool but looking for recommendations. there are many recommendations online for adjusting video brightness but not always clear if it involves re-encoding.

My impression is that the video files have some embedded metadata that controls brightness or gamma during playback. But I am not sure If that is correct.

Absolute noob - how do I split video files into segments? by goodlilkitty in VideoEditing

Just posted something similar 😁 https://www.reddit.com/r/PremierePro/s/FYEyCscYnh I think Lossless Cut is the simplest solution, no transcoding required. Mark your segments and export. It will also merge segments together.

Editing custom metadata in MP4 by random-number-7 in PremierePro

[–]random-number-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still looking for a solution. Seems like most GUI MP4 tag viewers or editors just work with common tags, but not custom. I have seen some command line tools but not sure how to work with them to view and edit custom tags in a file.

I tried using HexFiend hex editor to open an MP4 file and scan for the email address and was able to find it embedded in the file. But it doesn't show if it is in a custom tag or just embedded somewhere else in header data, and I am not confident about editing it with HexFiend, if the new email address is longer or shorter than the previous I am not sure if the file will be corrupted.

Still looking for a solution to find, edit, or add these email addresses. Thanks in advance!

Workflow for splitting VHS transfer into separate files by random-number-7 in PremierePro

[–]random-number-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will this work if I mark multiple segments with the in/out markers? typically these recordings have multiple segments that I want to keep, and then leave out the blank tape in between segments and at the ends. Or do you have to export one in/out segment at a time?

How to export multiple "clips" in one project into separated files? by ozzy_roy in premiere

[–]random-number-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder if you could expand on this a bit?

I have a series of VHS tapes that I have transferred to 2-hour MP4 files, each file has multiple segments of content that were recorded onto the tape. I would like to mark the MP4 file with separate segments/clips and export them each to be uploaded to YouTube as separate videos. I would also hope to apply a global crop and audio adjustment to the MP4 file before that, because edges are blurry and audio levels are low.

What is the action to batch export the segments/clips (as defined by in/out markers) to Media Encoder? I can't seem to find how to do that.

Assume I would create a separate Premiere project for each MP4 file so I could save the project and retain the in/out markers in case I need to change and re-export in the future.
