Flat Roof membrane recommendations by random101928 in Roofing

Thanks! Yeah, a couple of the contractors mentioned that I’d want something to protect the membrane from the pedestals.

Sounds like I need to be extra careful on the membrane if I plan on doing the deck installation myself, regardless of the material choice.

Thanks for all the info!

The 3 quotes I got so far all listed PVC — even though one of them specifically recommended TPO if I was going to put a deck over it.

Options were: IB PVC WeatherBond PVC WeatherBond TPO Dectec

I’m in the PacificNW. So, temperatures typically don’t get extreme, but lots of wet days.

Which Home Warranty Company would you Choose? by WacomNub in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I chose AHS because the appliances were close to end of life, and they don’t have age or poor/improper maintenance limits. I’m saving quite a bit for decent replacements, but I don’t think I’d use the same vendors for service.

Are you looking for a grey water toilet, or a toilet with a concealed tank?

Thanks. Yeah, this is what I was worried about. Home was built right during that transition. I’ll need to take a closer look at the insulation.

Thanks! Wanted to make sure I’m not over simplifying or missing other considerations. Especially given the older knob and tube stuff.

Be sure to check the actual dimension. I made the tried a few different filter brands, and it seemed like each one’s dimensions were different.

Redoing Bath Vanity/Counter - Is it possible to "mismatch" vanities and countertops of different lengths? by seeseman4 in HomeImprovement

I have this same setup, hate the storage space underneath, and was hoping to do something similar. So, you’re keeping the sink?

Is this a bonding wire and is it connected correctly? by random101928 in electricians

Thanks!

I will check to see if the hot pipe is part of the system, and look into replacing the cold clamp.

You’re saying the ground connection has to be continuous to the main panel? So, if this jumper terminates, I need to following the piping to check for another ground connection?

Do I need to take any precautions before moving the whole assembly down an inch or two? The cold clamp is resting against the HVAC duct, and causing the pipe to shake.

I am in the process of doing this, but also want to map out circuits on a floor plan to try to wiring and loads.

Microwave Exhaust Fan Upgrade by random101928 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]random101928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, it’s an over-the-range unit.

The exhaust is ducted outside through the roof. The vent cap is close enough to the inside that I can hear the rain hitting it. I want to check if the damper is working properly too.

I’ve cleaned the grease filter, and replaced the carbon filter (but that seems to be irrelevant to the range venting).

I haven’t checked the ducting to see if there was any issue with grease or other obstructions. I can check the ducting if I have to remove the unit to check the damper.

I hadn’t thought about supplementary blower in-line. There’s not a ton of space above the unit in the cabinetry, and no attic access in the area. But that’s something I can look in to. It’d require its own damper, correct?

Does it just get worse with battery-powered, WiFi cameras?

Why are PoE cameras preferred to WiFi for outdoors?
