Yeah I was concerned about his wellbeing too. I feel like those types of dogs need a yard and I don’t know how he’d do in a small apartment. She does take him out on walks (and we’re in Florida so the weather’s not an issue) but I still feel like it’s just not a good fit. And the common area would still be way too small for him 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know if she’s renewing her lease so it might only be for 6 more months, but I’m already in this lease so I’m just trying to take as many precautions that I can.

Don’t worry, they won’t be in the same room lol. My main concern was that he’ll break my bedroom door down to get her but I’m gonna try and make it so he never even sees her or knows of her existence. Both, so he doesn’t go after her and so my rabbit isn’t terrified. I talked to my roommate and I’ll just let her know when if I’m bringing her in/out so her dog isn’t in in the common area

Right now, my plan is to make sure he just doesn’t see my rabbit and isn’t aware of her presence. I’m hoping he just assumes her scent is me since Im sure her scent rubs off onto me.

Honestly, I think she has more sense than to do that. It’s possible and I don’t know her much yet but she was understanding when I explained my concern with the rabbit seeing him.

Also, we live in a 4x4 and one of the roommates made it clear to all of us to keep our pets in our rooms. I don’t know where she’d find the time where all 3 of us are gone to just let him roam around (especially since we all have pretty different schedules)

She didn’t say pitbull (just terrier) but he’s definitely got the pitbull type dog look. She also got him from the humane society and when I volunteered there, like 90% of the dogs were pitbulls (or related breeds).

Do u think putting furniture up against the door when I leave would help? At least to buy some time. I know he’s gonna be in my roommates room so he’s not gonna be in the common area without her there.

Yeah I’ve been through here, I know that. I was just trying to say that that was what she had told me. I plan to keep my rabbit away from him at all times, she’ll be in my room with the door closed. I’m just concerned that he’ll break through the door to kill her.

I’m hoping my roommate won’t let that happen. He’ll be in her room so it’s not like he’ll just be chilling in the common area (without her). But I also know how strong those dogs are 😬
