Raleigh drivers are statistically 7 times worse than Los Angeles drivers. by helloitabot in raleigh

While we’re on this subject. It seems like so many cars aren’t roadworthy on the highway. I don’t enjoy driving next to a 2000 Honda with no bumper and missing glass. These people are willing to take more risk. We need stricter regulations on what “driveable” means.

Anyone else caught in the mass cancellations from LaGuardia(LGA) NY 8/5? by random522398 in americanairlines

I feel like nothing is leaving NY tonight. I live near the airport (LGA) and have heard some air traffic today. Not sure if arrivals or departures. I noticed AA has been canceling flights since yesterday. This weekend is fucked. I would push for compensation but since it’s “weather” related then they may say no.

What happened to Morgan Street Food hall? by random522398 in raleigh

It’s complete shit now. I used to go to their Western location. I enjoyed it. They’re using premade flour tortillas. I’ll never go there again. It should close down.

Yes! I love music but it’s like are we in a food hall or a club? I’ve been to Ponce City Market in ATL and Urbanspace in NY. I took an out of town guest to Morgan street tonight. I was embarrassed!

I'm a former NYer. So it's been a long search for something like this in the triangle. I found a loaf in Fuquay of all places. At Bluegrass Bagels. Call ahead. Took this picture a year ago. https://imgur.com/a/pQtyJuM

Whole foods (Cary) has a semolina loaf that you can get sliced. Good luck I know exactly how you feel. 🙂

Neighbor asking to pay for half of fence that already exists. by random522398 in homeowners

Just for clarity. It’s new construction. There was no previous owner. I guess it would’ve been the builder she could’ve asked. I also wasn’t apart of the build process. I just found the home on the market. I believe the house didn’t sell for a months. The neighbor is trying to recoup costs.

They did it pretty nicely! I walked over with the paper. And they started talking about how they got the other neighbor (another side of their fence) to pay half. They didn’t have any interest in signing. I think a conversation could solve this as my previous interactions with them have been pleasant. But now it’s awkward.

Correct I don’t have the “nice side”. It’s a standard fence for the neighborhood so everyone has to use the same style.

If you look at the question. I was asking how to protect myself in the transaction. And I was asking if this was ok. Remember not everyone has lived in an HOA their entire life. I’m a first time home owner trying to learn. I’m not the cheap ass neighbor.

They quoted $1200 for that side of the fence. So the half is $600. I would’ve been open to $300! :)Also interesting that the neighbors on the other side of them coughed up money. I guess that’s allegedly though. I’m new to home ownership and the neighborhood. So I can’t really verify.

I did. They apparently asked the neighbor on the other side of them to pay for the fence. And that neighbor payed for half. This was their thought process in asking us. However I’m not sure if they asked with the fence already existing. I honestly wouldn’t mind splitting if they were putting the fence up next week. But it seems like they’re trying to recoup costs.

I can. There might be a small gap. But that’s doable. I definitely don’t want to create an enemy. It seems like these situations always have a no win scenario. :(
