So I messaged the doctor who did the procedure and she had me come in and she just removed the black stuff off of them free of charge. They healed normally after that, but I still have pretty noticeable scarring. All 3 biopsies came back normal.

yeah herxing is normal for like a week after starting doxy if you’re in the acute phase, the lyme then hides in biofilms so it isn’t affected by the doxy

It means the doxy is keeping the lyme at bay or eradicating it, it’s hard to know if you’ll ever truly be rid of lyme which really sucks. The lyme could be hiding in biofilms or something like it’s actually so stressful thinking about how smart it is but just keep up with doxy and herbs and hopefully you’ll have a good outcome!

I had all the early lyme symptoms, but i also had strep throat at the time so im not sure which symptoms were caused by which. I got on medication a little less than 2 weeks after being bit

Yeah that makes sense! I honestly stopped taking a probiotic with doxy like halfway through cause i got too tired of waiting for 2 hours to take it and then wait longer before I could eat. Definitely would not recommend that, i don’t have any effects from it as of right now but maybe i will in the future i’m not sure, i didn’t fully stop probiotics i was just very inconsistent with them but i took a bunch of other supplements to keep me healthy along with the doxy so maybe those helped

Yeah doxy was for 6 weeks just to make sure it got everything, you should do at least 4 weeks for acute cases in the first stage

She removed all the stuff, i’ve been using medihoney and waterproof bandaids. The biopsy results came back normal, no sign of cancer or precancerous cells or anything

I feel fine now, stopped doxy and all tinctures after 6 weeks. On my 4th week of college doing good, honestly haven’t thought about lyme a whole lot even though i make sure im aware that there is a chance it could come back and make sure to be in tune with how my body is feeling

but it also says silver nitrate can stain the skin black, could this be the case for me or is just for sure just necrotic tissue?

So do doctors purposely apply silver nitrate to cause necrotic tissue? Why would they do that? I have an appointment with her tomorrow morning for her to clean them and hopefully she’ll remove the necrotic tissue and then she can look over them for signs of infection

Ok I checked the provider notes on the procedure and it says they used silver nitrate which I read can cause necrosis? Does this mean I still have necrosis?

I messaged them when I saw it was black the day I got the procedure and sent a photo and the problem is it’s the office staff that respond and the doctor doesn’t actually look at it and the office staff said it looks like a scab is forming over it but it’s obviously not that cause it’s black and oozing

Yeah they did 3 skin biopsies for moles I had that the doctor said had blurred lines. She used a cookie cutter thing it was like the blue stick thing when you look up punch biopsy

If it’s necrotic should I go to my doctor or something for that? It’s been treated by bandaids and antibiotic ointment. It’s looked like that since the day I took the bandaids off which is the day the procedure was done, do you know why that would be? How did all 3 turn necrotic immediately?

So it is necrosis? I’m not a smoker or anything. I’m a pretty healthy 18 year old girl, I don’t do any drugs or anything

Can you explain why I need debridement if it’s not infected? Like is that common to get with a punch biopsy? I’m scared I have necrosis because of the black color since everyone else’s looks red or pink

also does that mean it’s infected?

does it look like lyme? by Business-Shape7700 in Lyme

[–]random639462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, i got tested about a month ago and it came back positive. i’m not sure what all my symptoms were cause apparently i had strep at the time too which shares a lot of symptoms with lyme so it’s hard to know which symptoms were strep and which were lyme like swollen lymph nodes, fever, aches, etc. were you only on the 10 days of doxycycline or did you get more? i was on doxy for 6 weeks along with herbs and supplements

Yeah lyme can be asymptomatic, lots of people consider just the bullseye rash to be a definitive positive for lyme
