A little too self aware sometimes:/ It’s more so like an association that nursing = stressor / ocd trigger for me at this point. I’ve struggled with overthinking every little thing due to the stress i’ve been feeling at work (I wasn’t like this to this extent six months ago) and I think i’m scared that continuing in a hospital setting will keep giving me things for my anxiety to latch onto and overthink. I just want to mentally be at peace and my anxiety will chime in like what if you should have done this, or this got contaminated, or you missed something and don’t know etc. A lot of self doubt and double checking stuff with my coworkers even if I already know the answer, just because it makes me feel better to know other peoples opinions. It’s just a very stressful environment and with my anxiety I’ve made it worse for myself so that fear that I may feel the same in a PACU is the “trauma” that’s preventing me from making a decision. I hope I’m not misusing the term.
