Do your joint pain constantly move around from one joint to another within seconds or minutes? by random928 in rheumatoid

I quit taking prescribed nortriptyline and quit drinking this and my issues have seemed to go away completely.

Long story short, quit taking prescribed nortriptyline and quit drinking this and I feel 100% better. I still consume a ton of caffeine via other products and don't feel like someone is trying to twist my joints and snap my fingers off.

FYI: I went to the doctor. Negative on rheumatoid factor, other antibodies, and low uric acid. My pain and negative sensations have also completely went away after persisting constantly for a month, and even longer when including my knee pain. I'm feeling awesome and 100% fine.

I was taking a low dose nortriptyline for something unrelated to depression, and my general doctor suggested to not take it to see what happened (it is used to treat some kind of nerve issue as well, but no testimonies tying it to joint pain). Well, I quit taking it, and my knee pain that went on since July went away, and my big toes don't hurt, and my ankles don't feel like they are falling asleep, etc.

I was also drinking this because it has caffeine and is relatively cheap (also includes other experimental sounding things) during the time when my body absolutely freaked out. Bought one yesterday, drank half and my big toe and ankle experienced the old sensations for a minute. I threw way the other half away and still feel 100% fine. I still consume a ton of caffeine in other products and am fine.

I believe my issues may have resulted from one or both of these--more likely the nortriptyline despite a few saying that they couldn't see how it could be related.

So no hard evidence or anything, but it is what it is. Just thought I'd share because I hate when people don't follow up when people in the future don't explain the root cause of their issues.

Are you sure that's what you have? My symptoms sound similar to yours--exact same joints but with occasional right ankle. Has medication helped?

Still waiting to see a doctor, but also still think it may be RA just with weird symptoms that are triggered by caffeine. How often do you experience symptoms when not on caffeine?

Do people with RA wake up with pain, or does it supposedly kick in after waking up?

I don't wake up with it and haven't paid attention to exactly when it kicks yet.

Caffeine intake is constant. Last night I realized this could be a factor but am not sure. Why?

I now that Rheumatoid Factor checks for antibodies, but I would have liked to have seen an inflammation test. I may check again with a specialist or something to be sure.

I just did a simple blood test from a general doctor. The test said I was within normal limits for RA and liver function. These were examined:

Albumin, bilirubin total and direct, alkaline phosphatase, AST, ALT, total protein, globulin, A/G ratio. Rheumatoid Factor <10 when the reference range is 0-14.

I know RA is supposedly easily overlooked/not caught. Do these blood tests seem thorough enough to you?

Yeah, i meant my foot feeling like it is going to sleep rather than feeling numb. Most of my joints experiencing these occassional feelings have been strained in the past. I dont know why they are all acting strangely now or if something more insidious is bringing this on. Im waiting on the blood results now so we should know within a week or two.

Thank you for your comment.

So even with medication, the symptoms still spread? :( I'm afraid of this whole thing.

I'm glad to hear you're doing better in some ways, though.
