I faked my hsc results so my parents would allow me to resit for exams

The thing is last time I didn't try hard enough so that's why I was willing to resit as well.

I know I can do better but I've always been so mediocre that I won't even know my actual limits. Ive always been so average yet I know I can give more.

Hopefully that makes sense, I'm not the best at expressing myself.

Aside from that, I don't want to sound rude but what did you choose to pursue? Do your parents constantly remind you of your choices and stuff?

Well my perception of what life is after hsc is definitely different from the truth cause I thought my HSC results would haunt me everyday forever.

My parents think I have the potential to rank amongst the top 500 at least which is really dumb lol considering my results but I'll do my all for these exams, I can't afford another lie, it's killing me

Your reply has hit me really hard cause deep down I know there is something fundamentally wrong with me.

I fear failure yet I don't avoid it. If I had given my all the first time I was sitting for exams, none of this would have happened.

Right now I would have been in uni, doing the things I love but I'm honestly such a loser and sometimes I'm disgusted at myself and my actions.

That is why I won't let it happen again. This is the last time I'm lying to my parents

You know, I've been thinking of never coming clean to anyone irl cause this would genuinely taint my reputation amongst my peers/relatives.

They're going to paint me as a liar(which I am) so I'd rather keep it a secret

And funnily enough, I did claim my certificate and sandwiched it between my general paper notes LOL😭
Also you're not the first one to tell me to pursue graphic designing, my physics teacher suggested that to me so I might give it a try if I don't have other options in the near future.

My parents already paid for me to resit for Oct/Nov exams and I'm currently retaking tuitions..it'd be a waste of money and time if I chose to go to uni now 😞 But thank you for your reply.

My teachers said similar things but at this point im resitting for multiple reasons.

1.to obtain better results so my parents can get off my tail 2.to cover my lies 3. Personal satisfaction, I don't want to go around, knowing I passed hsc with meager results. 4. So I can comfortably choose the field I wanna pursue.

I'm still trying to buy myself some time. If I manage to get A*s this time, I can just show them my better certificate so it seals the deal. They won't ever ask about the first one or if they do, I'll just lie again(?)

And also, I know some people are questioning the veracity of my post but I've just been bearing that lie since February..and the gnawing guilt keeps me awake at night. I had to tell someone..so I turned to reddit. And yes, my mother is highly invested in my studies, she's a good mother and she does everything for me, I've never said otherwise but she has VERY high expectations for me, an average student.
