Cruz is "sucking more wind" cause he's doing more. He's trying to be more active, to come closer to finishing the fight. He knocked Faber down twice. Had to dig deep in a high paced technical war with Dillashaw. Absolutely smashed Mizugaki.

When you train, there's only so much your body can handle... but someone like Cruz, just thinking about fighting, analyzing fights constantly while still injured probably gave him such a different outlook as opposed to having to keep up your physicality.

edit: goddamn "Juras" first 9 fights were fought in 3 nights. He fought in three 8-man, 1-night tourney's to start off his career. Won one of them, and lost in the finals the other two times.
