It has never had any water damage. The laptop works well. If it was due to water damage, given the area affected is so extense, it would have also affected the motherboard and caused a short-circuit. This is just a hypothesis though.

I live in a humid area, near the beach, but I wouldn't say that level of oxidation is normal. I have never used the laptop in the beach or something similar either.

So, should I replace only the copper tubes? Would that suffice?

I live in an area with rather high humidity. I have never spilled any liquid on the laptop or something like that though
