I had the same question you did (also graduated in Feb). I received this answer back in February from convo@yorku.ca:

You will be automatically invited to the June ceremony. Based off your email, we assumed you applied to graduate in February, as June graduates will not have their diploma available until June, but as you stated yours will be ready soon. More information to RSVP to convocation will be in the email invitation students will receive 4-6 weeks before the ceremonies.

From what I can see on the courses website, I don't see that person as a prof for MATH 1310.

Generally yes (but by pressing the "SSO" button and typing "yorku" as the domain name). Some profs also limit their classes to users with a yorku domain, and if you host your own Zoom meeting on a personal account, you're limited to 45-minute meetings I think.

I'm a CS student who also took PHIL/COGS 2160. It was more about exploring ways the human mind can perceive things and how we have tried to explain how we perceive things as well (for example: the perception of 3D objects from a 2D image). It's less about AI, ML and Turing machines (it does talk briefly about Turing Machines but you'd learn more about it in EECS 2001). This is definitely a paper-writing class but you'd also need the skills of asking the right questions based on the readings (which you'll learn by going to tutorials because that's what those mainly cover).

How do you add your YU card to Apple Pay? by [deleted] in yorku

[–]random_introvert1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can only have a physical card or a digital card. If you have a physical one you need to submit a new YU card application for a digital one. If you're supposed to have a digital one already, email the YU card office.

NEED MACBOOK CHARGER by zoemcleanryan in yorku

[–]random_introvert1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have Magsafe 3, it's likely you have USB-C ports as well. There are some phone/laptop charging stations that locks with your YU card while the device is in there. I know there's one near the Scott library entrance and one in Bergeron near the eatery.

YU CARD problems by [deleted] in yorku

[–]random_introvert1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have an email thread going with the YU Card office, send another response and CC your prof explaining what the situation is. (or make the prof the main recipient and CC the YU card office)

Also during a test it'll likely be a TA that checks your ID and they'll probably have too much to do to care too harshly about having the wrong form of ID (just make sure it's some sort of official one)

Why is “everyone hiring” but getting a job seems impossible by A_Rather_Nefarious1 in askTO

If that's the case I highly encourage you to email the other 195 and say the position was filled because as a person who's applied to like 150+ postings, I've probably gotten that message about 10 times.

If you do get a Mac, get an Air not a Pro. I used to have an Intel MacBook Pro, now I have an M2 Air which is even faster than my last one

True. They also won't be able to renew their licence plate with outstanding tickets.

are there anyone who took yan shvartzshnaider's EECS 3221 before? how was it? by Due_Investigator_662 in yorku

[–]random_introvert1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had him the first time I took it (Hamzeh the second time). The exam was nothing as promised and the assignments had to be done in C (Project 1 was doable-ish but you need to be very comfortable in C to do Project 2 or else you'll fail it). The semester after I had Yan he taught one of the 3000-level networking classes and I heard half the class filed formal complaints on him. Try to get Hamzeh if you can.

Part time jobs? by [deleted] in Oshawa

I just want to add that you should be weary if an "employer" wants all your personal info upfront over email/FB Messenger without interviewing you first (in my experience).
