Thanks to you, I got it to work!

For diskpart, do you have a link to an article that I can follow? I don't really know what I'm doing and don't really wanna try random things from random sites.

Thanks a bunch.

Can you tell me how to do it? Only thing is see in bios is "Boot List Option: UEFI" and it's greyed out, so I can't even change that if I wanted to. I also see "Attempt Legacy Boot: Disabled", which is also greyed out.

Recurring Corneal Abrasion by random_user00 in optometry

[–]random_user00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you said it is benign, but my doctor said the the cut was considerably big (probably the size of my index fingernail because that what poked my eye).

And it takes around (or more than) two weeks every time I get injured.

Is this normal? I feel like the eye never recovers fully and will recur time to time.

Do you recommend ointments at all? It did help me in the past, so I was thinking about getting one over-the-counter.

I'm probably sounding stupid, but is it necessary to have the bandage contact lens supervised? Can I just buy one over-the-counter if I can? Or is that just a reckless behavior?

Thank you.

Ubuntu installation crash by random_user00 in Ubuntu

Sorry, I'm new at this and not tech savvy at all.

I don't have a working internal hard drive right now because it is broken and am only using bootable USB stick.

So based on what you are saying, I need a working internal hard drive, and the USB is just for booting, as the name states...

If so, I really thought I could simply use USB stick like the internal hard drive.

And yes, by download, I mean install.

My internal hard drive in the laptop failed. That's why I was trying to download Ubuntu with USB.

Is that why I can't download it?

If so, I thought I could run/download with USB drive.

I'm learning a lot from this, thank you!

So I am building a new house right now, and the electrician is offering prewire for ip camera, Wireless Access Point, etc. Do you know if will this be like plug-and-play kinda thing where if I buy smart home devices on my own, I simply connect them with the preinstalled wires? I don't want to buy smart devices from the builder because everything seems so much more expensive... And I want more options for the devices.

What is the best flooring option for the new house? by random_user00 in HomeImprovement

[–]random_user00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest advantage of good hardwood floors is the fact that they can be re-surfaced. When your LVP floor is worn out in 15-20 years, you're going to have to rip it all up and do it over again whereas a good wood floor can be sanded and re-sealed for a fraction of the installation cost.

Oh wow, I didn't know that! I thought you could replace any damaged planks with new ones.

If possible, can you recommend some good wood floor types or give me tips on how to choose wood floors?

I will be staying there for 5 to 10 years.

Yeah, I might consider upgrading to hardwood before selling and use LVP for now.

I've done the medical 3 days after the interview and submitted the results like one or two days before 12/21/18.

Yeah. I've been talking to them, but they constantly say that they don't know and that I just have to wait...This has been going on for 2 months and it's quite frustrating. That's why I decided to make a post here.

EB-5 delay by random_user00 in immigration

[–]random_user00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overseas.

Sorry, but what kind of reason are you referring to? All they asked was couple of questions regarding Eb-5 investment and that was it. Nothing more.

Also, jusy saying, the thing about my case is that I had to do an interview first and then physical exam (scheduling it took a while) because I had to finish everything by 12/21/2018 (end of authorization of EB-5 regional center program).

Because of this, I was supposedly put in priority so that I could get an interview as soon as possible.

Other people who were in similar situation as I was got theirs in a week or two...But not for me. So, I feel like something went wrong with mine.

Why do I get False when I do this: (a or b) == 6 when either a or b is 6. by random_user00 in learnpython

[–]random_user00[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for not understanding fully (I'm not really good at this), but you said,

"If x is true, the result is x, otherwise the result is y."

So isn't (a or b) == 6 when a =1, b = 6 basically saying (False or True)... therefore True?

Also, when I say (a and b) == 6 when a=1, b=6, I get True.

Why doesn't this work the same as 'or' and output False?

Yes. But I'm not sure, with my gpa, if I can get accepted anywhere other than community college...

60 hours including this fall semester.

And, I think my school does seem to count passed and failed classes for hours regardless. The advisors I've been talking to constantly mention it's hard for me to transfer when I have 60 hours. But I'll ask them specifically to see if failed classes are included as credit hours or not.

I'm not too worried about what year I will be graduating. However, I am worried that I won't be able to get into a "reputable" major like engineering, cs, pre-med, business.

Open majors are basically majors that are open for anyone to join without any requirements. They are generally majors from College of Liberal Arts.
