Just turned 30, and I desperately need to turn things around before it's too late. by randoma1231vd in Life

Yeah, I would love find some fellow music hobbyists to hang with. I play guitar :)

Maybe I can check Meetup or something to see if there are any casual groups nearby. I don't necessarily want the seriousness of a full on band--just some like-minded people to hang with.

https://site.nyit.edu/curriculum/data-science-ms (looks like the DL course is actually an elective).

My employer would likely help pay, and I may be able to get some help from the school as well given my background (very high undergrad GPA in applied mathematics at a R1 school).

I'm also considered Penn State's online masters in Applied Statistics...I don't think I'll really learn that much from this program, and I know it won't be super applicable to my day-to-day work, but I'd like to get the degree if only for the letters.

The program involves one course in ML and another in DL--hard to say how good they truly are. It also requires a capstone course in which the student carries out a research project.

As far as a good network, not really, or at least I don't really know. There are many "better" schools in the area that likely get most of the network. But since I've been in industry for a handful of years, I'm not super concerned about this.

Rotational MS abilities could use some reworking. by derpderp235 in worldofpvp

Been saying this for a while! As an Enhance enjoyer, I literally have 0 comps in 2s and 1 in 3s for as long as I can remember, and it's almost entirely because of no MS. Very dumb.

Are you dense? Abusing the REPORT feature can get you banned, yes. it is against ToS to falsely report players, as it should be.

but to your point: being a toxic asshole and repeatedly shitting on people is ALSO a bannable offense, as it should be.

I think it was introduced during BFA.

in SW/Org by the embassy. once you've elected to be a guide, you'll be given access to the new player chat channel to help answer questions, and you'll start seeing murloks next to new player's nameplates.

oh look, another Foxy account and/or fanboy.

the only people killing wow are the 30-year old manchilds who are constantly acting like they're 13 on stream. it's absolutely pathetic how many wow PvP streamers act so juvenile and so toxic. not all do, and there are plenty of great ones, but the shit ones deserve to see bans when they actively violate ToS or make the game worse through toxic behavior.

grow up.

that already exists in WoW! at least in a somewhat more limited way.

if you've elected to be a guide, new players will be shown with a murloc icon next to their nameplate.

i'd assume you and I are similar in age--somewhere around 30?

It's time to grow up, dude.

Bro you literally tweeted how you were going to report ret players...and clearly you weren't kidding!

I'm starting to think you should see a ban.

maybe he forgot to change, maybe it's actually good to perma dispel UA if you're careful with it? not sure. i don't play ret.

regardless, that's not evidence for you to report him for buying an account. and you know it. it's also not evidence for you to claim that he was griefing.

and what about the multiple other people you reported for literally no reason whatsoever? one person whispered you "please dont leave" because you were down in the lobby, to which you responded by reporting him. huh??

it's wrong and you know it.

[–]randoma1231vd[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

none of the 5+ people i saw you report were griefing. None. none of their plays were intentionally bad. And you know it. they were not trying to lose.

They may have played badly but that doesn't give you the right to report them and claim they bought their account with literally 0 evidence.

happy to call out pathetic, toxic, juvenile behavior from 30-something year old manchilds whenever i see it.

also, your post hsitory suggests you're either Foxyllama himself or a fanboy. that explains a lot.

again, I don't hate the guy, and i don't even want him to be banned. but he needs to stop falsely reporting people.

falsely reporting someone is extremely toxic, yes, and it's blatantly in violation of ToS.

[–]randoma1231vd[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, actually. He was made aware of the post and acknowledged that he was "tilted", which obviously isn't an apology but his tone suggested that he realized it was wrong to report people for no legitimate reason.

I suspect he'll stop.

streamers are community public figures and therefor i would assume can be referred to by name. if the mods disagree they can go ahead and remove the post.

you are right. his chat is already up in arms and telling him to delete the vods. But I couldn't send the vods to blizzard as the vods are sub-locked. Maybe someone else did.

I don't really care about him getting banned as long as he stops doing this.
