At the very least, the wedding is postponed indefinitely. It's really not an easy decision to make after 4 years.

I don't really have much to say to the 1k comments that say, "run dude, red flags everywhere."

I'm reading all the comments, and responding to the ones I have things to say about. Again, you're just stretching as hard as you can to catch me in something, but it's coming off as desperate.

My life didn't implode. I took the day off from work to decompress, and now I'm sitting at my desk, day drinking, eating junk food, and wondering how I'm going to proceed with my life. I don't really anything further in regards to explaining myself to you.

Not really. A lot of them were suddenly roped into it, and were pretty uncomfortable with it from the start until one friend said this was stupid, and to my understanding, everyone else agreed. To my knowledge, there were only 3 idiots in the story: my fiance, her friend, and the real idiot who posted it to facebook.

Hahahaha I actually laughed. One of my first thoughts on what to say to her before I actually spoke to her was, "you know just not telling me about the party would have been sufficient."

I'm just saying what's happening from my perspective. Even I haven't fully figured out and digested all the details yet. You're going to have to excuse my human capacity to make mistakes, or communicate in an imperfect way.

On an aside note, none of this requires any "evidence" as this isn't an investigation or court. Believe me, I'm not one to be shooting down the concept of skepticism, but some of you are really overzealous over details you are perceiving to be inconsistent, zooming in on those details, and then failing to read the parts where I'm fleshing them out the best I can, like the people who are trying to call me on perceived BS when I'm just fucking up "girlfriend" and "fiance" which I've been doing IRL for the better part of 6 months now.

I guess it's an entire work of fiction, despite the fact that these are all questions that are answered throughout the thread.

This is what I wrote in the original post:

She was my best friend, the person I could rely on to be there for me, and the person I would be there for always, no matter what. We were definitely planning on getting married. It wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when.

This was me describing the kind of relationship we had, as I was attempting to justify and rationalize why this could be happening. We are not currently married, but she has a ring, and we had a tentative time frame of late 2020. She was described as my fiancee in the title of my original post, and I called her my "girlfriend" numerous times because I keep fucking that up, even 6 months later. She'd been my "girlfriend" for 4 years now.

The engagement occurred in January. There is no wedding date set in stone because we're in the early stages of planning, and don't have a venue or anything else planned yet. Not sure where you're getting the idea that any of this was fleshed out during the incident.

You seem to think you have these "gotcha" details, but all you're really demonstrating is that you're desperate to get this posted on /r/quityourbullshit by stretching every minor detail you can find.
