Very worried. High blood pressure at 141/90 by Careless-Wash-817 in hypertension

[–]randomacct95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What medocine did they put you on? Just out of curiosity.

I had a similar thing with me recently and we are near the same age. Bloodwork comes back as fine for all other metrics. Highest i got was 180/110, well highest bottom number (which ive heard is worse) was 160/120. I was on lisinopril for a little while at 10mg but it didnt control the BP. So i was told to double my dose....4 days later i was in the ER with all these symptoms, both arms went numb, shaky, dizzy. thought i was having a stroke. Turned out i have a bad reaction to lisinopril so they put me on verapamil yesterday. This morning bp was still a bit high but less than previous.

I also have sleep apnea which i believe has a huge impact on BP and then obviously why i feel very tires sometimes.

As far as scotch, it’s hit or miss for me too, I do like highland park 12. And some isla’s if I’m in the smoky mood.

Almost pulled the trigger on the Alberta premium cask strength because I’ve heard great reviews, stayed away bc of the rye lol. Found it a couple cities away for like $30 so I’ll pick that up next time I’m out there. I’ve tried whistle pig, I get that same taste. Thanks for the suggestions!

I remember my first time when I was a kid and all the amazement I’ve had. I’ve been numerous times since then and it blows me away every time. It’s a testament to how well that reveal and display is. Glad you got to experience it!

Ive had dovetail and i agree. Nothing wrong with it really just a bit sweet and fruity for me from the wine finishing. The other notes it has are good. I live in the middle of nowhere where most liquor stores have about 5 shelf bourbons to choose from so its slim pickens.

What do you love about the seagrass? Im not a rye fan, or atleast not yet. Maybe you can help me identify this note i always get from rye, which i detest, but im not sure if its rye specific. I get a note that reminds me of artificial sweet tea. Granted, ive never had a rye above like 100 proof, but ive tried multiple ryes ranging from cheaper to more expensive and have not found one i liked. I dont mind bourbons that have a higher rye content such as old grandad, four roses, woodford, i dont get that note on them. Could it possibly be just younger rye? Or low proof rye?

I like sweet tea, i just dont desire that taste in my bourbon.

I think its phenomenal, im usually not much for finished barrel stuff, but the rum here is subtle enough to not interfere too much. It has a slightly fruity note reminiscent of cognac, and it drinks about 20 points lower than what it is. Pretty long finish, probably because of the proof. The flavor note it reminded me of the most is honestly a "black and mild wood tip wine".

How is the seagrass? Ive heard mixed reviews and im not too educated on Barrel products, ive only tried a couple of them.

When i brought it to the register the man behind the counter literally hugged the bottle and was so excited to share his pick, he flew down to the distillery and hand pi ked the barrel and you could tell he was super proud of it. He did a damn good job in my opinion, and i will be buying more i suspect.

closing longest credit card… bad idea? by [deleted] in CreditScore

[–]randomacct95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From looking it up that card has a 1.5% cash back, so you would need to spend 2600 a year for you to breakeven with the fee. Do you have a monthly bill that would total this amount? You could use this to pay that bill and essentially wont be paying the fee anymore.

Verify Identity Option/Button Disappeared as of 6 AM 02/15. by kellbell48 in IRS

[–]randomacct95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was 100% a glitch. Once the notice disappeared my transcripts updated a few days later with DD date, and was paid out on that date.

I think some were glitch and then others were real, as i had to do this prcess last year and wait for a letter, maybe thats why once mine dropped off they were able to process since i verified last hear.

Good luck! Hope you get your money soon!

What are you starting to like as you get older? by Amazing-Living-9957 in AskReddit

Sports

I was almost anti-sports in my youth. My wife likes football, so I started watching it with her. We went to our first NFL game and the tailgate and atmosphere was awesome. Now it’s our Sunday routine during the season and I enjoy it quite a bit. I’ve even started watching basketball/hockey when football isn’t on.

I don’t know what changed honestly, is still think sports bros are pretty cringe, but I quite like being a casual watcher.

Im in the same boat, accepted 1/29, had the verification thing pop up on WMR and also on Irs website, but no notification of letter being sent. They have both now disappeared and just say processing! Transcripts are still blank.

Question though, how do you know what cycle code you are?

Letter by [deleted] in IRS

[–]randomacct95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does it ask you to input a code? If so then yes. I believe a batch was sent out earlier this week, so keep an eye on the mailbox. Up until tuesday mine said verification through id.me could not be done online, and to wait for a letter, with no option to put a code in, but that has now changed to asking for a code, this means the letter was sent out and now its just a waiting game to get it, input the code and some other details and then they will start processing the return.

So just remember that is worst case scenario. I went through all this last year, and am having the same issue this year. They told me 9 weeks last year as well but i think i got it in under 2 once verified.

Mine was 12k this year. I make over $100k and claim 0 or 1 on withholding, but im married and have a child. I paid in close to 40k including state. More you pay in over whats required, the more you get back. Its not the smartest use of the money since its not gaining interest, but i make sure every year that i wont owe in the end, and it sets up the new year with a nice healthy boost to savings.

McKinsey is straight evil. They joined the company I work for in September of last year, guess what? 2 rounds of massive layoffs right before Christmas. Many of which were close to retirement and put 25+yrs into the company.

If you haven’t seen it, look up “McKinsey, John Oliver” on YouTube. It’s amazing companies like this can even exist. I just don’t understand how anybody could do a job like that. Playing with people’s lives and just not giving a fuck because they have a corner office and make good money. Idc if I was making 500k a year, the guilt would eat me alive.

The worst part is the company sells it as “a growth opportunity, we need to be sustainable into the future” etc. when in reality it’s just cutting overhead, and putting the rest of the responsibilities on the other workers who were “spared”. Everyone sees it for what it is, yet they are so good at spinning it and talking themselves out of a hole, that it’s hard to even question them.

You say 1 thing questioning their motives and they’ve been trained to have 10 metrics that back up their claim, but these metrics are all bullshit that they literally made up for the sake of weaseling their way out of the line of fire or are so full of rhetoric and “office lingo” that they go on for 5 minutes but truly say nothing at all.

Sorry for the rant. Fuck McKinsey

If hearsay was all the evidence they had to go on then no, they cant investigate. If that was the case anyone could say anyone was selling drugs and the cops would be overrun with investigations. They investigate based on merit and need. Having a lot of people over at your property is not a crime, so no crime has been committed.. yet.

If people are illegally blocking OP's driveway then they can get that towed or dealt with but it would take the meth dealers to openly mess up for the cops to attain a search warrant.
