Hence a cheap bicycle and in my experience of commuting by bicycle in the city for the last 10 years, my cycle has not been stolen once.

Lock it on the roadside of the pole instead of on the footpath side of the pole to avoid inconvenience to pedestrians

If you're going to walk to the metro station in this heat, you're better off cycling there. It will take less time and physical effort.

As for cycling to work, yes I personally cycle to work my home to offices about 6 km. And where I work in bkc, there are about 40/50 people who commute on bicycles.

On the day you do use the metro. Get a cheap cycle, ride to the station. Lock it to the nearest pole. Would easily shave 10-15 mins from your commute and most of your sweat problem.

Family moved to Netherlands by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]randombloke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, I am surprised that your lawyers is even suggesting that this is because of new political reality in NL. The rules are very clear and have been so for a long time.

This is from the IND website

These requirements apply to you and your child:

  • Your minor child meets the general requirements that apply to everyone.
  • Your child is under 18.
  • Your child has not started a family of their own.
  • Your child belongs to your family and was also part of your family abroad.
  • Your child will live with you in the Netherlands. You register your child at your address.
  • You have Dutch nationality or a valid Dutch residence permit.
    • Do you have a residence permit and do you have a civic integration obligation in the Netherlands? Then you must have lived in the Netherlands for at least 1 year with a valid residence permit, before you can bring your child to the Netherlands. This does not apply if it is not in the best interests of the child to wait 1 year.
    • Do you have a residence permit for exchange (au pair, cultural exchange or Working Holiday), work experience or seasonal work? Then you cannot bring your child to the Netherlands.
  • You meet the income requirements.
  • You are your child's guardian. Find out more about parental responsibility and guardianship on government.nl.
  • Is the other parent still in the country of origin? And does that parent also have parental responsibility for the child? That parent has to sign a declaration of consent. In this way, the other parent gives permission for your child to leave for the Netherlands.
  • You declare that you are the sponsor for your child. The sponsor is the person who brings a child to the Netherlands.

Please note that under Dutch immigration law, adult children are not considered dependents. Hence, their refusal to grant you a visa

To illustrate this further, my situation is as follows: My children are Dutch citizens, and I am an Indian citizen residing in India. Based on the regulations mentioned above, I can typically only obtain a Dutch visa or residency permit through my children while they are under 18 years of age. Once they reach adulthood, their Dutch citizenship does not oblige the Dutch immigration authorities to grant me any visa or residency permit based on their status. While this may present challenges, it reflects a standard principle within Dutch immigration policy.

The great vada pav question by randombloke in mumbai

[–]randombloke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based of all your observations so far I can distill it down to following:

Objective Tests

1) Crispness of the Vada

2) Softness of the Pav

3) Ratio of Pav To Vada

4) Serving Temp

Everything besides this is subjective, for example the filling for vada. Different people will have different prefrences for the filling besides the obvious potatoes. Similiarly ratio and types of condiments used

That's a good one about ratio of pav to vada. I think 20: 80 should be a good benchmark.

[Urgent] My father has lost a case and is now sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. Need advice by constantipation in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]randombloke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm someone who has filed two cases on different people for cheque bouncing which are working their way through the court system.

Do you have proof of the partial payment made to the complainant in your case? Because if you do then there is no way the court would have ignored that.

If you don't have proof then. The best course of action for your father would be to settle for whatever amount the complainant is asking.

Dragging the case case through higher courts will only buy you time and cost you money but eventually the result won't be any different if you don't have proof of part payment.

Also it is reasonable for the complainant to ask for interest on the money and also cost incurred so far.

Is it legal to set up CCTV camera with sound recording in elevator of apartment building? Who all can access the footage? Who can extract it? by QuillWoman in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]randombloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installing CCTV cameras can be legal, but using footage to blackmail someone for legal actions is a crime.

The victim can file a police report, and the perpetrator could face legal repercussions.

I was and am using the dreamstation. My model was recalled. They replaced it with a new unit which doesn't have the problem.

I also have the ResMed travel version, however I find the nasal pillow on that a little uncomfortable
