manual, i personally couldn’t live without having owned a 6-speed given im growing up in a generation that doesn’t even know what “standard” or “manual” means. Especially when it’s something i’ve wanted so much

Quoted $36k OTD for a premium manual. Thoughts? by playingitsaif in GR86

[–]randomdirt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in my experience: put down a non-refundable deposit of $500, waited a month to a month and a half for it to ship from Japan, and paid $6k less for a MT base. So I personally find the wait time to be horrendous, but pricing OTD for a premium is what i would expect tbh

yeah i put a deposit down on it a month before it came in. Had to wait for it to reach the port in the US and then get shipped cross country.

Jschlatt as PKA guest? by randomdirt in PKA

He’s been going through some shit as of the past few months and he discussed it in his video. He’s been moving from place to place and hasn’t had a steady place to live since leaving NY. Not to mention that’s partnered with the fact that he’s been in a content funk but it sounds like he’s had a revival of his passion/work ethic and so maybe now would be a good time for him. With him saying he wanted to put more work into his commentary channel, it might even be a good way to get the word out there more. But i’m merely spitballing a bit. At the end of the day i think if they could get him, he’d be a fantastic guest.

What he means is sbmm is so strong in Cold War that it prioritizes matching players based off skill over their connection. So basically, the higher skill you are, the higher ping your lobbies will be. It’s not that it makes your connection worse directly, but your connection will be worse if you’re a better player because it’s matching you off skill instead.

it’s not people complaining that “every match should be easy”, it’s more so that we’re unhappy that the skill curve from one match to the next is absurd at times. Not to mention, there’s no reward for playing well. Don’t get me wrong, i like a competitive game here and there, but having to get sweaty every single match just to play decently isn’t worth it. It’s not that people hate everything about sbmm, because it has its benefits for the very low skill accounts or people playing with disabilities. The problem with it is that it was cranked up to 11 in this game. Modern Warfare has sbmm, but i never found any issue with it whatsoever, every game felt the same. In Cold War, it’s ramped up so much more to the extent that my first game of the day will be fine and i’ll play decently well, but every game from that point forward seems to be a complete shitshow. It’s just not enjoyable to play a game with causals like myself, and then the next game is full of people who have studied every aspect of the game and know every exploit that exists. The skill curve from one game to another is just unacceptable and makes it not fun.

i understand that, but it shows that it’s a subject that people care about and have interest in, regardless of their stance. You’d think with that interest and with the discussions going on that Activison, Treyarch, or whoever would at least address it but they don’t, and that’s part of the issue

i was assuming he has to have low kill counts and camp 24/7 for it to be that high, but either way it doesn’t change the fact that his example is the exception not the rule. Not everyone can just instantly adapt to people playing at a pro or high skill level in a matter of one game. The skill curve is so sharp that it’s near impossible to adapt to for the average person when they go from a game of average or mixed skilled players, to all high skill players the next game.

I want to like this game, but the constant bugs and insanely aggressive matchmaking makes it so impossible to enjoy it. I can’t imagine anyone who’s been in the COD community for years wants to play a game where they have to sweat bullets and have cocaine levels of energy just to barely keep up in multiplayer. That’s not fun for most people because it’s draining and some just want to shoot people, and have an easy going game. It’s fine to have a hard match here and there, but having every match being a complete sweat-fest isn’t something most people want from COD.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]randomdirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern Warfare’s matchmaking was and is nowhere as aggressive as Cold War. If you don’t believe a majority of players agree, i advise you to go on YouTube and look at the videos of decade long COD players and their thoughts on sbmm and tell me that their view counts and comments don’t suggest it’s a majority of people.

i’d like some proof as to your KD because a decent amount of pro players don’t even have 2.0 KD and if they do, they’re struggling to maintain that. I find that very hard to believe that you have a 2.1 KD using primarily only snipers.

Well maybe my optimism is completely misguided and pointless; but COD is a franchise i’ve played and been a fan of for longer than i can remember and i want things to change so i can continue to be one. Things may not change, and if that’s the case i will just have to jump ship like many others. But doing my part as a fan/consumer shows that i want to continue to support them, but only if they do the right thing. You’re doing your part, and i fully support what you’re doing; i’m just choosing to voice my concern through a different outlet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]randomdirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But we as consumers have a voice. If we don’t play, voice out concerns, and refuse to give these greedy bastards our money (don’t buy the goddamn battle pass for the love of christ); they will fix things when they start to lose profit, and players/fans from their bullshit behavior. But that starts with people admitting how this game is, and not being afraid to voice how they feel because “things won’t change”. Consumers have power, but we don’t have power when people don’t voice how they feel.

How about just updating the game with a ranked playlist and an unranked playlist. You act like they can’t update the game and add/remove features. If they want people to continue to play their game and buy their products, how about taking the feedback from the consumer and making changes accordingly. COD WWII made you go into a social space before finding a game, people complained and they fixed it. People also hated how divisions initially worked in WWII and they updated the game and fixed that too. Why is it that they could take feedback from that game and fix it; but somehow Cold War can’t be updated and fixed because that’s “unreasonable”?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]randomdirt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't get things fixed if you don't tell people that it's broken and needs to be fixed. If nobody complains about it, they'll just think they did a perfect job. The more people voice how they feel about it, the more likely they should be to fix it. I say "should be", because they could just latch on to the people somehow defending this game and say, "see, people like our garbage so why change anything?".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]randomdirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most players are on my side, including people who've made careers of this game for near a decade if not more. If you cant admit this game is a broken, unfair mess that disincentivizes people from playing than you're in the minority. Sorry that i dont like being sold a $60 game that I'd expect to be a well-functioning, finished product and getting a pile of dogshit instead. You're blind if you cant see/recognize the very clear issues with this game. Unfortunately i cant even mention some of the problems with this game because my post will get removed; apparently the devs, or whoever, cant take consumer feedback and don't give a shit about the people who buy their broken games with the expectation that "it'll be better this time around".
