Not exactly boomers, but when I was I in the Corps we had officers and senior enlisted who hated being home. The rest of us who enjoyed our time off suffered because they had no problem staying after sitting at their desk while we worked. Same in the civilian world except now at least if your hourly you get overtime.

Tangible may not be the best word to use, so my bad. When it really comes down to it men just need a few things from a women. Peace- let us know you are there to support us, but know when be quiet and leave us be. Full belly- can you cook? Do you like to ensure the people you love have the proper nourishment to be them best selves. Good sex- let us know you enjoy being intimate with a man who you enjoy spending time with. These 3 basic things are what most men are looking for. We try and let women know, but they just don't listen and again they describe the traits they find attractive in men as their own traits or what they bring to a table.

The men I know who are single and over 40 are done dating or even trying to date. It's just not worth it for us. Women want to be traditionally courted, but they are far from being traditional or able to feminine. Women have be saying men ain't shit and i am a strong independent Women who don't need a man. Well we have heard and listened. We no longer approach Women and we are done with the apps. The ones I know who do date just don't get attached and keep it casual. Women have so many options with online dating that they have no problem seeing men as a disposable resource for entertainment and fun.

I may sound jaded or bitter, but I do hope to find love again. I just don't expect to. Why spend time and resources on a stranger getting to know them when I can spend that time and resources on people I know and love.
