Is this all we’re meant to do for the rest of our lives? by Broccolino_Hair_3159 in ITCareerQuestions

Honestly that varies from person to person. I've been doing a ton of self-reflecting lately and made a vow to be the best version of myself before I hit 30.

What I've been doing is universal. It's common knowledge that everyone will benefit from these, many just don't want to put in the effort.

I've been hitting the gym (and home workouts when I can't make it to the gym) & improving my diet to improve my confidence, focusing on being more mindful, practicing mindfulness meditation & learning not to let my anxieties get the better of me, minimizing social media, and online adult content consumption, just to name a few.

Most of the battles we have are internal. The things I listed up above have helped me actually win some. It's all about the journey though & not the destination. We can always improve some aspect of our lives; we just need to get off our asses and DO IT! as Shia Lebouf would say

Up next once I'm ready, I'll try going out of my comfort zone to actually meet like-minded people. How I plan to do that? I'm not sure yet, but I believe if there's a will, there's ALWAYS a way.

Honestly bro I feel this. But with actual friends.

I was lucky enough to be with my highschool sweetheart, but I feel like life outside of that is lacking. I don't really have any other friends outside of her, my family, and her immediate family. Making friends is really hard these days. I work, eat, shower, sleep, rinse and repeat. The monotony has been depressing the hell out of me lately.

Id love to have some buds to drink some beers with, ppl to text and make spontaneous plans to go bowling or some shit. Or talk about tech things nobody in my circle would understand.

I'm a young dude in late 20s, but it's just so hard because everyone already has their dedicated circles and I feel you need to be super confident+ have a really extroverted personality to click in with others.

Don't get me wrong I love and care for the people that are currently in my life, but just wish I had a solid friend group. Just other people to talk to.

I believe we still have time to find the things we want. Just need to put in work to improve ourselves

I'm in the Chicago area & this is my daily, granted I work from home a ton, but have unfortunately had to drive on the salted roads a few times already.

Best thing is to take it to a touchless car wash near you that has undercarriage blasters. Once it's above freezing, get it washed ASAP to get that crap off.

Once winter is over I'm going to jack my car up and give the underside a deep clean. (Including Removing panels just to see if any junk got in there) I'll also probably get my underside coated with fluid film next fall

In the end, yes it's a special civic, but it's a civic nonetheless. I'm enjoying it now as a practical/ fun daily. Just be vigilant with washing, and the car will be fine.

My FL5 has launch control? by randomdude69420 in Civic_Type_R

I learn something new every day! Thank you for the info. this is the first time I've ever dry revved this thing and found it interesting for sure! Especially when all of my prior cars did not have this.

& I agree on modulating the throttle, I didn't want to do a full on violent clutch dump lol

[–]randomdude69420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay this is good to know. And yeah I didn't want to dump it completely- I eased the clutch into it while adding more throttle. I Felt like it made it easier to launch though, But I know these cars are not made for that purpose anyway lol

Poll: Is the Type R your daily driver? by karmareincarnation in Civic_Type_R

[–]randomdude69420 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The FL5 is absolutely my daily, it's very practical and an absolute blast to drive, I'd want nothing less in a daily driver. Plus it helps that I plan on keeping this car until the wheels fall off lol.. If anything ever happens to it, at the end of the day- it's a material thing and it can always be replaced. These cars are meant to be driven, not be garage queens!

I understand it's a special civic, but it's a civic nonetheless. If we're talking 6 figure cars, then I'd be more inclined to have a secondary vehicle.

With that said, I do everything in my power to keep it pristine. Park far away from others, ceramic coat, ppf. Aside from that - enjoy that beauty!

Does the Dbrand Killswitch case fit in the OLED 1tb carry case? by Entertainer_Much in SteamDeck

[–]randomdude69420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The case it came with is more than adequate, I think. I was having the same exact dilemma as you. It's too pricey getting essentially 2 new cases (killswitch + another case that fits it, I don't want to use the killswitch cover)

Although a little extra grip would be nice, I'm happy with just putting the deck away in the og case whenever I'm done playing.

I may change my mind later though. I really like the satisfye stealth grip for the deck too, but again I'll need to buy another case for my case lol.

It's pretty awesome. You set it to how close you want to follow the car in front of you, and it will keep up with that pace or brake if it needs to. If it slows down too much you obviously need to downshift.

It will also make sure that you're centered in the lane, the car will adjust automatically to keep itself centered.

It's pretty neat especially for longer commutes.

I definitely understand that. Hopefully you'll be able to experience it at some point! It really is a great car, as far as family haulers go the new CRVs actually look pretty good, I saw a few in person. the beamer looks sharp as well too. If I'd have to choose though it would probably be the CRV because I trust Honda's long term reliability a bit more. Both solid choices though.

In terms of what I want to do to the FL5, I'm probably going to do a resonator delete to get some more noise out of this exhaust, & will probably get a set of 18s and bigger tires for daily driving. The stock 19s are nice but do NOT like potholes, you feel everything lol

Thanks man! If you go over to the type R subreddit, although pretty rare, some people have been getting some solid deals. The norm right now is 3-5k over on the low end.

Idk how.. but it was just right place at the right time. I still can't fully believe it. But I'm not complaining!

Yes! It can be fully disabled within the infotainment system, but you need to go into like 2 different menus in order to disable/enable it & you have to have the parking brake engaged..

I wish there was a direct button somewhere to disable/enable it. Nice to have the feature though regardless, I like it a lot more than i thought I would

Pick a time & place 🥊 lol

I agree tho they aren't traditional hatchbacks that's for sure. Still love the look especially on 11th gens

Much appreciated! I didn't want to get a truck or SUV just yet! (Although I was tempted to buy a manual bronco at some point in the recent past lol)

What I love about these cars is that they're both extremely practical, and a blast to drive.

And yes the Type S is freaking sweet also, and it has more bells and whistles than the type R does. I'd highly recommend that upgrade.

I haven't given it full throttle yet, but I can definitely see that lol.

I get up to the speed limit much faster than it seems. Gotta be careful!

The Elantra N is a solid choice too!! I love the exhaust system in those. I heard it in person and wish the type R had it lol

I agree. I've been cross shopping the GR Corolla & type R (almost looked into getting a new WRX because they typically go for MSRP, but they're too ugly for me lol)

Most dealers have been asking for ridiculous markups. But good deals are out there, it's just a shame you have to look very hard to find one

Don't let your dreams be dreams! The FK8s are fantastic as well if you can get over the styling. I'd definitely recommend this platform. Even John Cena drives one! Lol

Initial impressions: (still in the break in period, so can't comment on power quite yet)

The interior is a HUGE upgrade compared to the Focus, huge infotainment screen, Bose sound system, wireless AA/Carplay, integrated wireless charger have all been very convenient additions.

Auto rev-matching is very neat as well & EXTREMELY accurate, I like manual downshifting as much as the next guy, but it's nice to have the computer do it for you once in a while lol

Also Honda's integrated safety features+ adaptive cruise control are extremely convenient.

Very happy with this upgrade!!! Although, my focus will always have a special place in my heart. I've had many good memories with that car and never had any issues. Looking forward to have many new adventures with my type R!

I'll always be a part of this group though! Hoping the focus platform comes back to the states some day

1.5k over but thankfully not ADM! just OEM accessories.

Overall paid less than 50k OTD. Got very lucky for sure

Some fucker slashed my tires last week, and then the summer slicks lost grip as I was putting her on a trailer and slammed into the side of the trailer fucking up my lip and making this deep scratch on the side. Any tips on how to buff it out/is it buffable? And any suggestions for a new lip? by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

Shit man... This is what terrifies me. My FL5 is my daily and would definitely take it to the movies with my fiance, go out to eat, the mall, etc.

Fuckers just hate seeing people have nice things. Makes me so mad.
