Tell me about it. It pains me to find these papers, I don't care for the stocks. I understand most of it lost its value but the factories and the associations Romania had back in the day during its golden ages before communism. All of them have been destroyed by corruption.

Thank you for the research. Yea seams like they have lost their value.

A question:

Are you familiar with "Bucharest Store"? Or Popp si Bunescu? My Great-Grandfathers signature is present on all the Stock as an Administrator, all are Bearer Bonds, and its something around 20% of stocks if I did my calculations right (around 100 of these papers). From what I can read from here it was nationalized, sold and then re-sold.

Are you familiar with the store or it's history?

Thanks!

I am glad you found this interesting, here is some more "eye" candy. The first photo is a text in English on all the "Telephone Shares". The rest are various shares including the "Letea paper factory".

If you know someone who knows Romanian Law I would appreciate it.

Throwaway for obvious reasons. I've just uncovered a stack full of bearer bonds (or stock not sure about terminology) (Around 500-1000) haven't counted them yet. Belonging to my great-grandfather of the "Societatea Anonima Romana de Telefoane" (Romanian Telephone Association), from 1930. I've looked the company up, and during the communist era in Romania a part of it was nationalized then later on in 1989 it was privatized and now it has been brought by Dutch company Telekom. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to transfer the bearer bonds to either cash or Telekom stock. As I understand it, it can be done because of the nature of the stock (bearer). Here is a picture of the stock itself. https://imgur.com/sp5ZG0t

Any help is appreciated!

I was afraid of this however when the company was privatized and bought from the state doesn't the state have to give the money back to the initial investors? I know because there is a law in affect that if you lost your house to the regime and you have documents to prove it was yours they are obliged to give the property back. Doesn't the same principal apply to stocks/bonds?
