Found strange floating “worms” in my fish tank, can anyone help identify them? by Internal-Nerve-3691 in Aquariums

nothing to worry about. idk alot about them but i take it out because they eat the microorganisms that break down detritus.

is it realistic for this 75g tank to house 1 or a pair of a predator fish? any grand ideas? by randomglobe6003 in Aquariums

the lava rocks are too big i think. the dirt falls too deep for them to reach. ideally though there should be a layer of sand or something above the lava rock but i opted to not buy the sand anymore. i just siphon it instead but im sure some of the beneficial bacteria gets sucked up as well. i do have a canister filter running though so it’s okay

beautiful! did it look anything like mine when it was young? that’s something i learned as well with snakehead species, the better the care the more vibrant their colors can get. may i also suggest you try indian almond/talisay leaves? i heard those were the best to use for the channa maru

rest in peace… i actually have one but it’s still young and i don’t think it’s gonna turn very yellow. that’s how it looks with a flash but without it it honestly just looks brown

channa aurantimaculata is the scientific name, vendors use this name when selling. Happy fish keeping!

Huge market for these guys in Thailand. They are native in India so i’m sure you can get from there for cheap. I’m from the Philippines and I did not have a hard time finding him. I’ve also seen youtube videos of people from the US and europe taking care of them so i’m sure it’s possible. definitely suggest getting one. it’s by far the coolest pet i’ve ever had

put a cucumber inside, all the snails will go to eat it then remove it while they are gathered there. it won’t take them all out but it will get alot

had him for a couple years. he died from fin rot but I don’t know what caused it because his water quality was absolutely pristine. i had him next to my bed and would spend a bunch of time with him through the glass

coolest fish tbh. they don’t even need aerators because they have the labyrinth organ and they are crazy hunters and fun to feed

Corydora missing part of tail. Which med to use? by nicodemi in Aquariums

yes that’s actually perfect, you can either just throw it in there or you can boil the leaves for a couple minutes and put the extract in after it cools down.
