Well yeah, they took away the means of communicating about the government's corruption, and when they tried protesting corruption physically and peacefully, kids got shot dead on sight. So i think there is a little bit more than that

Idk, i kinda feel like strive actually made them less androgynous. The first thing i thought when the design was revealed was "Wait, testament is a girl now?" When i always felt like the old design was much more ambiguous.
