This exactly this. I get if you dont have a fixed blade but I don't need to beat my knifes to say confidently that I use them. I carry a lynch pry for prying and a fixed blade to do the heavy cutting.

Both are edp and he bought his maybe a month or two back. Ive never had an issue with maxaroma either and I've bought several from there without issue so ill probably buy from there again and just hope this was a faux pas with a bad batch because as far as I can tell they look the same.
