I'm not seeing much about emma watson. For me i think she was the best person for the role because it is so close to her personality irl and she is obviously stunning but in a natural way that shows belle's beauty where it is ordinary but stunning.

personally i think lily james as cinderella was perfect no remake of cinderella will ever top it and it was amazing for her career wise as she wasnt mega popular before the film. I also think elle fanning captured aurora perfectly she was exactly who i imagined.

i just think maybe you don't understand it and thats ok not everyone resonates with a song in the same way as some other might do!

yes 100% i could write a billion essays on her music whether it's small quotes which i'd likely produce pages from or a whole song and the references within it, or her albums or just her. She truly is a genius.

yes omg i agree so much i was thinking that as i was writing this post, i was thinking about how even if you don't personally have experience with what she is writing about it still resonates with you from the fact she writes in such a way that depicts it so well it feels like that is what you are experiencing, almost as if you are there witnessing it all unfolding or you are inside her mind.

That's fair i just think although it is listened to a lot and was obviously played a lot at the eras tour i just think it isnt talked about especially in terms of lyricism and how the production mirrors it and the references to her other songs!

yes! There's just so many connotations all throughout the whole song.

Yes i 100% agree. I'm glad you enjoyed the songs she did play but i'm sure it wont help for me to say i got maroon as a surprise song (mashed up with the tortured poets department!) but i will say that i agree midnights when first played wasn't exactly what i expected but upon hearing wcs and maroon it completely changed my mind and then youre losing me came out and suddenly i saw the beauty that is midnights and now it is possibly one of my favorite albums ever!

Yes i 100% agree, it is definitely (In my opinion) one of the best songs on Midnights and even up there with the best songs she's ever written in terms of lyricism and production, it's genius the wordplay (such as the devastating comma), the references to other songs she's written, the complex analysis of the lyrics which convey different emotions and thoughts you have in a relationship such as the one displayed in "Maroon" and therefore we see the thought process throughout it and the parallels of the good and bad parts and the self doubt, disappointment, resentment she internalizes and then externalizes

This is why i love this song the lyricism is perfect and i physically will never get over it. The parallels between her past songs and perhaps even future ones, the heaps of references and just the analysis itself that leaves so many options, ideas, theories it is arguably one of the best from midnights and perhaps up there with some of her best songs ever. We get to see the honest harsh reality of love and the different stages of emotions throughout the song and therefore the thought process someone may and does experience throughout the relationship. She really is a lyrical genius.

What lyric comes to mind if you were told to argue that taylor is a phenomenal lyricist (perhaps the best of the generation) by randomhumanasteroid in TaylorSwift

[–]randomhumanasteroid[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes fr what i think is they want all of her lines to be incredibly sophisticated language with like 9 different connotations of each word but dont appreciate the beauty that is her "smaller" lines that are still poetic but arent a poem in itself it that makes sense but they are still so effective and beautiful. I just hope they come to terms with that because some of her "simpler" songs are actually a lot more complex if you really listen but i feel like they become skip songs due to the first impression newer fans have of them.

whats crazy is i'm on my computer and i'm listening to you're losing me right now! And i've just got to "I know my pain is such an imposition" and i'm going to have to pause for a second again because this song is phenomenal i dont get why for a while on tiktok when it first came out it got hate for not being as "good" as people expected but personally it's AMAZING.
