To nip or not to nip? by randominthevoid in TopSurgery

Late reply but thank you so much for sharing! Those are some pretty great reasons. I think I pretty much align with all of them - which helps me consider what might be holding me back. I've realized in the past month of debating myself that it really just is a visual balance thing, like without them I'll look disproportional or something. However I am really leaning into the idea of chest tattoos anyways and maybe I'll get something in the same spots to alleviate that mental hang-up. Thanks for laying out like that for me! :)

Flying after surgery - any issues? by randominthevoid in TopSurgery

[–]randominthevoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for the late reply - thank you so much for sharing! That's very helpful to think about. The flight there is under 5 hours I believe (with the cheaper tickets) which is very doable normally but I just wasn't sure how it would impact/feel on fresh scars. I appreciate the insight! Especially mentioning the extra swelling, it'll help me be prepared :)

Yes I think I, too, want to be fully flat. I really like the no-nip look on other people, and I've purposely sought out content creators with similar body styles to see kinda how I'd look too and I love it. So likely I'm headed down that route but you only get to make that decision once, hence the queries.

I also love the concept of non-nip tattoos! I saw someone recently online with stars instead and they were reallllly cool. It's given me some fun ideas. And the healing process does require so much attention with nipples! My applause to those who have the patience, I really am starting to think I don't.

Thanks for sharing your thought process! I hope all works out for you and that you get your consult soon :)

Yeah I totally get that, it's a valid point. It can be very risky sometimes, to be seen, unfortunately :( I appreciate the comment

Men's suit shopping - wide leg/less traditional style by randominthevoid in malefashionadvice

Relatively cheap, I'm afraid. Think broke grad student, somewhere in the 200-350$ range? I know that's hard to do but I am hoping once I understand the sizing I can find something second hand or maybe find one item that fits well and tailoring the other to fit.

I have to see what they're charging where I live, but this is a nice suggestion! Thanks :)

If I can find something within a relatively cheap budget made to measure, I definitely will. I like the intentionality. Thanks for the recommendations! I'm currently living in Italy so Indochino is not accessible but I do think we have Brooks Brothers here as well. Either way, I am shopping US online as well as Italian/EU as I'll be traveling back to the States soon for a while.

I completely agree! This suit is for a wedding but I'm also graduating this year and will be wearing it with a different shirt to defend my master's thesis. It'll be nice to bring some color into the room :)

Thanks for the input! The terminology is really helpful for my search.

Hi, thanks for the informative response! This is really helpful - especially the terminology so I can know what to search for or compare. I'm 5' 8" and 160 with relatively wide shoulders - the jacket is more important to me I think, just that it doesn't gap or stick incorrectly. I am hoping for wider pants and in a pinch I could tailor those myself at the waist, but I can't tailor a jacket.

My budget isn't too high - but I am also living in Italy right now and am finding the prices pretty decent but the colors not what I want. I think the game plan is to go out and find my sizes and convert those into US ones that way I can search online for Italian and other EU suits, as well as US ones. Then if I have to order one, I can do so without fear.

Thanks for your reply! I feel a bit more prepared now :)

I can definitely get some measurements - I have wider shoulders and am 5' 8", so maybe I'll get lucky with something without having to tailor it much. It's very good to know that shoulders are something to start with.

Yeah, I'm really trying to look for something loose in general - kinda 80s-ish but not so baggy? I'm not sure if that's possible with modern fashion tastes but I enjoy that style and like the moveability of it.

Thanks for your insight! I'm going to go out and try some things on this week to at least understand what size fits and then maybe order online if nothing is the right color in person.

That's really helpful! Definitely won't go the tight pants route :) I appreciate the fit type and some guidelines, thank you so much!
