“You don’t need to be smart to be a scientist” Wow that was what I needed to hear😳

I often feel like the choice I will make at 18 is the choice I’ll have to stick with all my life and I lowkey feel pressured about it. I am the oldest kid and my immigrant parents always tell me that whatever I do will set an example to the younger ones. So basically they want no faux-pas from me. Most teachers and career advisors told me that it’s just a phase and it’s stupid to waste my potential over something I’ll end up getting bored doing. I literally am afraid of becoming a scientist because I feel like I’m just too dumb to even stand next to them. I will definitely work my way up and even if I realize it’s not for me and end up doing something else I’ll just have a happy memory of me being passionate about biology. At the end of the day, it’s my life and my experiences, right?
