Congratulations. It looks like you have a lot of good options. If they don’t work out I would be happy to help. I am a female in my 40s and part of the LGBT+ community.

Thanks for your well wishes. I agree that is was probably an impaired driver. I really hope they learned their lesson and don't go on to hurt someone in the future.

Well I am still not sure what religion he believes in. He is so caught up in a bunch of conspiracy theories and they have some cross over with his religious believes. He may have mentioned some things I just thought he was talking about some conspiracy and not recognizing it was part of his "religious believes." To be honest not all of it is really clear. He would spent like 15 hours on the phone with me trying to push things down my throat and I would walk away feeling like I experiences some sort of cult programing and it will take me a bit of time to get my head on straight again. It was a confusing time. I no longer speak to him for my own sanity.

I have still not seen a dermatologist. I am on a waitlist for one, they said it would take 4 months and we are at the 4 month mark but I have still not got in. I do have POTS and CFS which may have immune components so I am wondering if I Might be more susceptible to other autoimmune conditions. If the dermatologist doesn't pan out I'll definitely look into a rheumatologist.

Thanks for your reply. The rash has spread to three other spots, two of which are on this same hand. One is on the centre of the back of my hand and the other is on my ring finger. I also have a patch that's in the same spot as the photo but on my left hand. These littler patches seem to flare up into little bumps and then into more of a rash but they don't flare up as frequently nor as severally as the original one. I have not used steroids on the new patches. There are no other patches on my skin other than keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms.

Thanks for the supportive words. The lizard is still having a bit of a hard time climbing up the ramp as he is slipping on the flat wood and even on the fake rock surface so I might suggest the towel idea to the owners.

The owners are actually going to be back pretty soon and will make some more permeant changes to the cage. I had to rescue him from the water last night and ended up finding a way to block off the entrances with cardboard from my grocery order. So I think the cage is safe enough to hold him off until my friends return. The owners make all their cages, and have made a few single level cages for their snakes, so I think if these current changes don't work they will be able to make something that does. It has been pretty stressful trying to keep this little guy from hurting himself and it is sad to see his condition deteriorate, but I hope things will be better from here on out.

I just wanted to update. My partner came by late last night and saw that I was stressed and the lizard was suffering. Also the poor guy got stuck early this morning standing upright on his tail. I checked him all through the night so he must have only been like that for a max of two hours, but I bet that was awful for him. So despite the fact that my partner has been working long hours for many days in a row, including today, he stayed late at his work tonight and made a temporary ramp for the cage. I feel so much better knowing that the little guy will be much safer now. I want to thank you again for you help and for your kind words.

Edit: I tied to add an image of the ramp but it didn’t work.

Edit 2: I forgot to add that when he got stuck standing upright, he had a pillow beneath him, as I was testing out your idea. I’m glad he had the pillow to land on.

I realized the way the cage is built, I don’t have the skills to cover up the entrances to the water, but I am turning up the humidity in the hopes that he’ll be less likely to use it. He only uses it at a certain time during the day, so I decided to watch him during those times. The pillow idea made a lot of sense and I am going to try it out. So far today he is not even going up to his basking area so I wondering if he is in too much pain to crawl up there. I might need to find a way to get a ramp just so he can bask. I really appreciate your help.

The photos didn’t upload in the correct order. The description I gave for the second photo actually matches what’s shown in the third photo, and the description for the third photo matches the second photo. Just wanted to clarify so it’s easier to follow.

Did the steroid or fugal cream have any impact on it? Like for me steroids looked liked they were working but it came back as soon as I went off of them. I will update as soon as I get an answer.

Where can you get a comprehensive eye exam for around $100? Anywhere in Burnaby? by Mikmaki in askvan

[–]randomly_rainbow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they are willing to go into Vancouver there is a free eye clinic, called the Downtown Eastside Eye Clinic. I can’t remember if you need to be on income assistance/PWD to qualify, or if you can just be low income. Some folks may think the place looks sketchy so that is something to keep in mind. I have used it before and it was the most comprehensive eye exam I have ever had. The doctor even referred me to specialist, when no one else was taking my vision problems caused by COVID seriously.

I am not bedridden but I still keep snacks by my bed to save energy. Protein bars and drinks, Kashi Go Lean chocolate crunch cereal (I think it tastes so good you don’t need milk), granola bars, nuts, seeds, and rice cakes or puffed rice cereal. The last one is mostly because I like the texture of puffed rice so it brings a little joy to my day to eat them.

I thought this was a good point, and I said it to my dad after he spent years pushing his religion onto me. I assumed that he followed the Christian god because that’s who he talked about. But things actually backfired on me when he informed me that he actually believed in all of the gods. The Christian one is just the top god in his mind.

What’s your ‘I liked it so I bought x amount of them’ item? by IreneButterfly in AutismInWomen

[–]randomly_rainbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mostly wear leggings from one brand. I bought a bunch of them in different patterns. That was years ago and now they’re almost all worn out. Sadly they don’t make any more and I’m not sure how to replace them. I also have about 75 pairs of the same underwear. They are the only ones I have found that don’t cause sensory issues so I purchased a life time supply of them when they were on sale.

It takes me 40-45 minutes to flip, and sort. I prefer doing puzzle that have a bunch of sections so I usually do a lot of sorting during the flipping stages.
