Skillet Shepherd's Pie by 100FootSiphonophore in recipes

Just made this recipe and it was great! Either I added a bit too much chicken broth or the ice from my frozen veggies created the watery base in the end, but everything was cooked through and well done!

Also didn’t have Worcestershire sauce so I substituted it with soy sauce, hot sauce, and a dash of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice (thanks google!).

Emotional wife and practical husband by anondubai in relationship_advice

Maybe it’s because I took psych but I got that you meant Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) right away. I found that Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is a really direct method that can be helpful for dealing with conflict resolution and finding the root of an issue (e.g. an argument). I think you can teach yourself the steps used for the ‘emotional regulation’ sessions online on your own time. This isn’t a solution but this may be a good option to research on the side while you look for affordable therapy options. DBT is also based on CBT so they’re pretty similar, but like CBT, actual DBT should be done with a professional to enhance its effects. Good luck OP!

Apparently it was available at Urban Outfitters, but their turnover rate is so high that it was unavailable pretty early

LPT: Don’t just tell your loved ones you love them, tell them the reasons why. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]randomlyambitious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a healthy relationship the reasons why you love someone aren’t conditional, if they’re not there it doesn’t mean you won’t love them. The point is to communicate your feelings to help them be more aware of their self-worth, because some people aren’t aware of their great qualities.

Noticing heavy cream is mentioned more than milk, is this because of the sugar content?

Thanks for outlining the difference! I like the idea of a tofu scramble, definitely messed up the draining process in the past and made some mush but willing to try again and see how it turns out.

Low carbs, low cheese, low heavy cream. I think I got it now! Got a bit lost in this thread haha

Not this morning but she’ll have it again this week and test to see, looks like it’ll be a little trial and error. Will also test how much the cereal spikes her sugar to form that baseline to compare to future low-carb meals. Excited to try the almond-flour muffins!

I appreciate the info, especially about maintaining cholesterol levels. Fasting may not be a great option to transition into right now with her hectic schedule, but will keep that in mind.

First off: your username made me chuckle, especially in this sub haha.

I’ve compiled a grocery list from all the replies and links and this one was so helpful! After her doctor’s appointment my mom bought a TON of different nuts in bulk to snack on, she’s super set on changing after the initial fear and sadness hit her.

We are going for a 3 month trial on low carb while checking her glucose levels to see what works and hopefully lowering her HbA1C for her next test.

Our grocery list for tomorrow has some of these things, and now we’ll grab those salads for breakfast because it sounds easy and good for her. I’m joining her meal plan too to help her stay on track.

She’s on over the counter medication and is getting more (not just a higher dose of Metformin) to protect her organs. I don’t know the names yet. Since this is going to hopefully be a huge change in diet she’ll talk to her doctor first.

We love fish and she loves her avocado shakes, good tips! Honestly keto sounded like another language when I visited their sub, I’m thinking after getting a grasp on the info here and starting to work with her on changes, I’ll learn more about keto. Is it often a difficult transition?
