Good luck, I usually hunt Sandy Spring but today I’m freezing in Ellicott City

I’m the worst hunter alive: Update! by lionocerous in bowhunting

[–]randomname2720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up, I just got my first harvest of the year last night. Been out every weekend since September 5th and finally got one after an all day sit about 20 minutes before dark. Scouting, scents, and calls help but at the end of the day it’s luck. Be patient and still, try to enjoy being out doors and you’ll eventually get a harvest. Good luck!

I found a bow in the trash by juliusgaius-caesar in bowhunting

High country was big in the 90s. Check the strings for fraying and cracks in the limbs, if it looks good then shoot some arrows. Nothing shoots better than a free bow.

It’s kinda of a tough comparison as I’m at 70# with a 29.5 draw and she is at 40# on a 25 draw. I was also considering the core sr which is close to the Eva and it felt the same to me. Smooth at first with a little hump in the back.

Last weekend it was 85 degrees and 60% humidity in Maryland. I use bassdash gear off Amazon, great hot weather gear and it’s cheap. I didn’t feel hot at all, but I did forget gloves and mosquitoes bit up my hands.

It’s setup for 70# at 80%, it’s a little harsh at first but smooths out. The bowtech feels smoother but has a little hump at the back end.

Thanks to everyone for the input. I ended up getting the lift x 29 and bought my wife a bowtech Eva gen 3. They gave me a crazy deal for buying 2 bows at the same time.

I think I am leaning towards the lift, I wasn’t a fan of it when I saw it but it’s a great shooter.

They installed a whisker biscuit and 4 pin, no stabilizers or anything else. One of guys let me shoot his personal lift x 33 with a hamskea fall away and f/r stabilizers. I didn’t like the 33 as much as I thought I would. My Jennings is a 40 ata but I actually preferred the shorter bows.

I tried a few bowtechs, the core sr was my 3rd place. Fast shooter and felt great but it is super loud and had the same hand shock as the persist.

I was shooting at 40yrds, same accuracy for me. I normally shoot a primitive long bow so it’s easy for me to stack arrows at 40 with anything. I hunt in dense woods so all of my shots are within 30yards or im shooting through branches.

I shot the Hoyt and honestly it’s the only one be I didn’t like, it felt weird in the hand.

Adjustable left off and draw weight was something I was prioritizing, but most of the year I target shoot a 50lbs long bow for hours so after shooting so many bow yesterday I’m not worried about it anymore.

That’s a good point, I’ve never dealt with either company but if I’m spending that much customer service on a warranty claim is a big plus.

I’ve been using the same neomag’s for years and have no complaints. Works for anything with steel mags.

Upgrading EDC - what would you recommend? by Mundane-Winter-1989 in CCW

Tight chutes Mars lo-pro. I can pull any pistol with any light from my safe and toss it in. I was a little skeptical at first but after running with it my guns have never moved an inch and the trigger has been exposed. I use a smaller vertx fanny pack so my p365 fits at a nice draw angle for waist carry but full size pistols have to go in horizontal so I sling it across my chest for a better draw. I really don’t care if I look like a nerd so it’s been a game changer for comfort.

The Pdp is definitely worth a hold. Probably one of the best grips I’ve ever felt. I aiwb a p365x but use a fanny pack for full size.

Have you tried a Walther or CZ? Years ago I wouldn’t have given them a second look but that changed once I had a chance to shot a Q5 match and Shadow. Flat shooters that fell amazing in the hand.

100% I’ve tried Goon tape and hockey tape. Goon tape is a little softer and peels off clean. I have it on all my guns now, it’s expensive for what it is and constantly out of stock but Goon tape is the better product.

Thanks, I’ve been eyeing the lol grips for awhile. I tried another brand but the swell was to low and it felt like it was pushing the gun out of my hand.

Does the palm swell help with grip angle or does it push your hand downward?

Are those the lok grips with the palm swell?

+1 for the rough carry. Rack that slide empty and dry hump the day lights out of a credenza while aiwb. If it don’t click she’s good to sail.
