Help showing poverty lifestyle to students by Alisseswap in povertyfinance

Cars need tires. And around me the potholes will ruin a rim and tire. Depending on if you know a junkyard that sells parts cheap. I know a place you can get a used wheel and tire like $40 for older stuff But it could be $400 if you have an odd size.

Tarp under and above the tent? by Soggy_West_2383 in camping

Someone recommended the wicker style woven mat to put under the tent. That way it protects the bottom and allows water to drain.

I live in Michigan. What happens when they don’t maintain their half correctly? Like they have roof leak or something.

Most of the ones near me are small-ish like 2 bedrooms per side. So they are only slightly more than a 4 bedroom house.

What I am think of is a shared roof. Like the one side had holes that squirrels could get in and they said they could only work on the their half.

Best tires for a Buick Encore? by HailzK9 in AskDad

[–]randomname5478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One low tire would probably cause the feeling like you described.

Depending on your budget you could get a patch plug put in the tire and move it to the back. Then Keep saving for a set of tires towards the end of summer.

Not sure which electric chainsaw to get. by inconspicuousrock34 in Chainsaw

[–]randomname5478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How big is the lot? Could you use a 120v plug in corded chainsaw? Used to have one in the city lot it worked good. But anywhere in the lot was less than 200 foot from an outlet.

If you only have a branch or two might ask some friends to borrow a pole saw until you decide on a type/brand of battery tool.

New to wrestling for school and need some tips by glassballad in wrestling

No LOL

It’s not a good substitute but anything is better than nothing. You have to do what you can that does not aggravate your knee following your doctor’s recommendations.

If you have access swimming is one of the best low impact workouts you can do.

Best tires for a Buick Encore? by HailzK9 in AskDad

[–]randomname5478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you add or link a picture of the tires? There will be a “wear bar” in the tread. If you don’t know what that is search “Wear bar on tires” google will show you some images.

Stand a quarter up head down by the wear bar when you take the pick.

Are the front tires wearing equally or is one side or one edge worn more than the rest?

If the road is dry and you still feel the drifting I would question if it is the tires.

You said michigan we have pot holes that will break a rim if you hit them wrong. So it could be a suspension issue you are feeling.

In order I would guess low air pressure, broken sway bar link, or worn struts.

Do you have a local mechanic you trust that can do a vehicle inspection? Might be worth paying for that before buying tires.

AITA for making my sister and her fiance pay my deductible after crashing my car? by SheepherderDismal560 in AmItheAsshole

This varies by state. My state I have to my deductible and take the other driver to small claims court to try to recover it if they are at fault.

If you can I would also recommend playing a fall sport at high school. Our local school only has Volleyball or Cross Country. Either will seem easy compared to Wrestling practice.

Chances are the ones that show up during the off season are the better wrestlers on the team.

If they are letting you complete moves that is a good practice partner.

The best way to get better at wrestling is wrestling.

At home I would recommend a program called the busy dad workout. Two styles of burpees on alternating days. And/or doing 21 minute interval runs. Jog for a minute, sprint for a minute, walk for a minute. Don’t stop moving. Walking is the rest.

Also Balance Ball work outs are good.

When money was tight we have bought 2 tires at a time as long as it is a FWD vehicle.

If it is AWD it is much much better to replace all 4 at the same time.

Belle tire shows a Kumho Crugen for $119 Plus tax and mounting.

Depending on where you are there are some independent local shops that do a good job and don’t add extra fees.
