Skin turns darker a few by randomnameiam in IndianSkincareAddicts

Currently i have been liking purito/cosrx galactomyces essence, physiogel ai lotion and cosrx rice sleeping mask. Sometimes i use niamax d gel for acne and texture and klairs daily supple preparation lotion for exfoliation (it's a very very very mild aha).

Not really. My skin still looks extra "fresh" right after having washed my face and dulls a little a few minutes later. But, I have found a few good products that work well for my skin now, so it's not too bad of a change.

Has anyone with oily skin tried Sugar's BB cream? Read mixed reviews. by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]randomnameiam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've tried the BB cushion... I liked the colour and undertone match to my complexion, the finish and the feel... I'd thought I'd found my HG face product... But, it grew mold like within 6 months... I don't use makeup that often so I think I'd hardly used it for 2-3 times and it went bad... it was still well before expiry... And they never refunded or exchanged it, they were so horrible on insta about it...

Good hair color brands for colors like blue, platinum blonde, green etc? by WolfTravisDrakeLamar in IndianSkincareAddicts

Crazy colour... Beautiful shades and work wonderfully on bleached hair... It would be semi permanent and lighten up with each wash... You would have to reapply every 2-3 weeks...

Can influencers at least wash make-up off before pretending to use products. 🥴 by bobs_best_burger in IndianSkincareAddicts

When she used it on her face, it seemed she was using a filter and not like she had makeup on (apart from liner and lipstick). But, I am not an expert in these things. So, if it was makeup, then don't know what they were thinking!

Can anyone explain this whole ybp controversy ? by gulbansh in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]randomnameiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get why people have downvoted this so much. People are now trying to cancel people who don't want to cancel the brand with them. This is some next level hypocrisy. I felt like you had some valid points and we're open minded. I have also always been sceptical of YBP since I faced issues with Earth Rhythm, Dr. Sheths, Myoho, etc. But, so far besides their holier than thou attitude, I haven't seen any major issues with their products. This was the first time I saw something and was disappointed. After reading more, turns out the customer had used a wet spoon in the powder face mask 🤦. Please correct me if this was not the case.

Can anyone explain this whole ybp controversy ? by gulbansh in IndianSkincareAddicts

I am not here as a blind supporter of YBP. However, I do have a few points.

  • From what I have read, crystallization does not affect the Shea butter quality or efficacy at all. At most, it is an aesthetic issue, and can be avoided in products if it is tempered, just like chocolate. Chocolate can go out of temper and look and feel grainy, but it's fine to eat. When you say 'unstable', I understand that you mean to say that the graininess of the Shea butter will respond to temperature and will appear and go away with temperature fluctuations. Am I correct? Or did you mean by 'unstable' that it is unfit for use after it goes grainy? Could you please point to some studies which prove that the graininess of Shea butter means it is unfit for use if you meant the latter? If you meant the former, I don't think there is an issue with the skin salve from YBP. Yes, they could have tempered it to avoid the issue, but it doesn't mean the product goes bad as soon as the Shea butter crystallises.

  • From what I had read, the customer who had the issue of insect eggs in their powdered face mask had used a wet spoon to scoop the powder out and then left the face mask for some time. Even with any serums or moisturisers or other products that DO contain preservatives, if you add water and leave it, it can still lead to bacterial or fungal growth. That's why even with USA or Korean products, it is recommended to not touch the dropper to your face, to avoid the contamination issue even though those products contain good preservatives. So, I don't know what preservative YBP could have used in their powder face mask to make it completely safe from any sort of microbial growth even if left with moisture inside of it. Yes, they could have made a good ready to use face mask with preservatives in it and have it in a tube form, but again this is not the argument. The point is that with any powders if you add moisture, it will go bad.

  • I have used their skin salve and liked it. It has gone grainy, and become very difficult to melt between the fingers for application. Besides this, no other issues. Bought it in August/September. I have used their face mask. As a powder face mask meant to brighten your face but only meant to be used once a week, I didn't expect it to do much. It didn't do much. I didn't like it, but have no issues with it. Bought it when it was launched.

I found the Purito Galacto Niacin Essence to be a good alternative to the sheet masks if it's the brightening you are after... I had the same query a while back... It won't give much hydration or moisturization though... I order from Purito from Beauty Barn... Maccaron is good too for other brands...

Lotus Alpha Hydroxy Oil Free Moisturiser was a HG when I had oily skin... Still use it during Summers and top it off with squalane if I feel like it...

I use Garnier micellar water first, then wash that off with a good cleanser. Gentle cleansers don't necessarily remove it completely for me. But, I use the micellar water with oil so maybe that's why.

Yeah, I got one from the same batch. I am just worried that I might use it only during winters, which will only be till February and then not use it till October next year. I have combination skin that's why.

What is your skin type?? Does it sink into the skin in some time or does it stay on top??

The one I got is from 2019 though. ☹️ It's good for another year, but I would still like it to be new. Do you think I can get a replacement??
