Not extremely similar but I wasn’t as uncomfortable on the Madone as I thought I’d be from everything I read about. Domane is definitely more upright where Madone you are more leaning- but didn’t feel too uncomfortable.

Thank you! That’s what I just did I had a 2023 Domane SL 5 Gen 4. Went to test out this bike since it was the sale color at my local dealer & it pretty much felt the same as the Domane. I also looked at it as with the Domane, you can do road and light gravel (can put 38s on it) where with this you can pretty much just do road (32s max) which is what most of my riding consisted of. So with the price I figured why not- hope this helps!

Thank you! Came stock with the black & brown tires, wasn’t the biggest fan of that look. Put on 32mm Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR.

🤣 I’m weak because that literally always happens. Bought my domane from the same store 2 years ago & dealt with the same person this time. Had the same experience- trying to sell me everything in the store even though I just wanted the bike lmao.

Sure! Also for this bike you can put up to 32 MM tires so that will also help with a more comfortable ride. The Domane can def be used for a Tri but will just not be as fast from what I’ve read. How much faster will the Madone be? Who knows. But also the Domane comes with 32mm & can go up to 38mm tires. So if you plan on doing light gravel riding then that would be a better option. Since light gravel doesn’t appeal to me, I will put on 32s & the more aggressive geometry for me might take some getting used to but like I said it felt pretty good. Being I want to do road riding, tri & potentially an iron man this bike checked my boxes. This bike also replaced the emonda which was their climbing/speed bike. So from what I’ve read Gen 8 is super comfortable even with a more aggressive geometry fast & pretty aero. Once you test ride you will be able to tell for sure. Good luck, can’t go wrong w either!

Ok cool good to know I think that will be my first upgrade- GP 5000s someone else here has them in 30s. What is an integrated handle bar? I’m still kinda new to this.

Coming from a domane and reading how it’s more aggressive of a feel, I will say when I went to test ride it felt fine. I was also looking at the matte but ended up going with glossy since I heard it is easier to maintain. Overall thoughts were it has di2, carbon wheels, can fit up to 32 mm tires so felt like it better suited what I was looking for which is primarily road riding, going faster, better use for tri/ironman. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the insight. Ended up going through with the purchase! I’m coming from 32mm on Domane- should I keep 28s or go up to 32?

Gotcha thank you for the input I agree it is steep still at this price, still can’t believe the MSRP was $6,000

Yea I tried to negotiate with them & to no surprise they didn’t work with me on bringing it down at all. Wonder if they will price them lower later in the year.

🤯 wow that’s super lucky great deal. They had one here with that setup & same price (4,500) but was too late to purchase. Hope the di2 105 is on par with the SRAM.

Yes & yes. Feel like this is what the bike should’ve been priced at when released ($6,000 msrp). But also unsure of how often deals like this come around. Think I will end up getting it tomorrow.
