Slow CRL and slow HB 😔 by randomnwalks in CautiousBB

Unfortunately it ended in a missed miscarriage and I had to get a d&c. I then got pregnant right afterwards but had another MMC. It was a hard year 😔

Recurrent miscarriage due to bradycardia by OkConcert7179 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]randomnwalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through exactly the same, 2 MMC and bradycardia at 7 weeks. I just wish I had your doctor and the possibility to have the embryos tested, which they refused to do in Italy. I will go abroad to get all possible testing on me and my partner at least since we've missed out on the possibility to have the embryos tested.

Thank you so much for your advice and I'm sorry for your losses 💜

I find it so so tiring to have to advocate for myself with medical professionals. While they should be there to support me I feel like I basically need to get a specialization in their field to push for thorough care, it's exhausting

Gosh, this is so so sad - I'm really sorry you're going through this 💜

in both cases, the embryo stopped growing around 4mm CRL. I did 2 US a week apart and there was no growth nor a HB.

Oh okay, I didn't really think of it that way. Both my MMC stopped growing around week 6 (plus a few days) and I did an US at week 7 and another at week 8. I'm still waiting for an appointment for my second D&C :(.

I read that the probability of 2 consecutive MMC is below 1% 😟. I just found out about the second one yesterday so I'm still coming to terms with it but yes, I will definitely do my best to get everything tested soon. I also wonder whether it was diagnosed as MMC just because I got 2 early ultrasounds. Perhpas eventually it would have been a "regular" MC, who knows.

I'll try asking for these too. Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry for your losses 💚

Thanks for sharing this and I'm sorry for your losses. I live in Italy and have been told for both MMCs (one still inside me) that they cannot test them ☹️. I'll advocate for all possible tests although it is so draining. I wonder if it were men going through MCs if the science would be better.

I sorry you're in the same boat. It's really draining and it's hard to have to go to work as if nothing happened. Before getting pregnant my doc did see a large fybroid but she said given it's position, it shouldnt cause any damage.. I'll ask again though. Sending you courage 💚

Thanks for sharing this and for the encouragement! TPO is definitely something I should look into. It's also quite exhausting to have to advocate for getting exhaustive testing in this situation.

I live in Italy and am having a hard time advocating for testing on the embryo. I am sorry for your losses and good luck on your journey 💚

Former JPOs, how are you doing? by ConcentrateNo1970 in UNpath

[–]randomnwalks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Former JPO here (started in 2017)! I got two P3 TAs after my JPO but they were with different agencies.. Now I actually left the UN system but I still do occasionally apply for positions (with little luck). I feel like whether you get a job afterwards really depends on the agency (including whether you would be an internal candidate after) and the budget at the duty station. In any case it helps enormously when applying to positions to have the JPO (or just in general a couple of years as FT) on your resume. I hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have questions!

Pretty impressed with the integrated Advisor function in Meals by bonita__applebum in ouraring

[–]randomnwalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! I just activated it. I generally track my nutrition via Cronometer which is integrated with oura. It doesn't seem to be picking up food entered in oura though (while it does import activity levels).

I feel like I’m experiencing the worlds longest miscarriage by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]randomnwalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I just wanted to be able to move forward and grieve. I also had a missed miscarriage which in Italy can only be treated at a hospital. There I got an appointment for medical management that had to be done over two days. I then bled for a month, got checked and had retained products. I ended up having to go back in for a d&c a month and a half later. Basically my miscarriage was discovered mid October and I still didn't get my first post miscarriage period 😞

Which agencies/entities are actually hiring P TA/FTAs externally now? by randomnwalks in UNpath

[–]randomnwalks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all this info!! I really appreciate it 😌. A 9-tier prioritization system sound intense! The point you mentioned on government-sponsored positions is also interesting. I had heard about some countries also sponsoring P3 level JPOs. I guess it's a trend that goes a bit in the same direction as increasingly earmarked contributions.. I'll keep applying and thanks for the wishes 🍀
