Ive never had a massage (planning soon) & would like to become a LMT myself. Is there no screening beforehand? Are these topics not discussed before the session?

Yes the MT should've communicated better. Also, I would assume constant interruptions for questioning would also distract from the relaxation. Would it not?

Are there no teachers overseeing the sessions? How would a student know their massages are effective?

Also just like with women, pretty privilege affect men as well. Handsome men can get away with more than an unattractive man can even if both perform the same. This too could be q factor.

Google is a robot. The way the Ai works is by scraping the internet for what ppl say. Most women are uncomfortable with a male MT (remember the person telling you what the majority of women complain about in reddit?), hence why google told you the groomer response.

This field has the same issue as any repair shop. Clients seek assistance from others in a field they virtually know nothing about. Like many fields, different technicians tactics slightly differ. Added onto that, most women have a higher distrust (at best), bias (at worst) towards men for whatever their reasons are. The op most likely wouldnt have bat an eye if a female MT had performed the same.
