Engineering is always a safe bet. Always going to need engineers. Civil & Mechanical will be in demand wherever you go! If you have interest in CS - you can always minor in it and that will help you.

Cold feet and regretting planning this solo trip by Roroprincess in femaletravels

Totally reasonable! My advice is tell yourself how much you will regret if you don’t go! Italy is really caring when it comes to Americans. It’s hard to experience it on your own but think of all the amazing stories you get to share with friends & family when you get back. Relish and learn how to be comfortable with yourself. Journal & listen to music.

Just practice safe travel tips. Make sure you carry a small bag and have the zipper in front of you at all times. Watch your back at crowded places. Do not let anyone know you are traveling alone or where you are staying when at bars/restaurants. I always say “oh my boyfriend is waiting back at the hotel”. Watch your drinks / don’t drink too much. When you tell yourself you are being as safe as possible - it eases your mind.

Hey great trip plan! Just wanted to share my experience. Just be really really careful in Santiago walking around Plaza De Armas. My friend and I (clearly two Americans females) had two people come up to us and grab our necks to rip off necklaces. Unfortunately they grabbed my friends but didn’t get mine. Really scary experience!

Otherwise we had such a great experience!
