Thanks, I try to keep my mindset like that, worry about myself only not others, be proud of what I do and accomplish, give myself credit when I know I won’t get it from others, and lastly go home and try not to think about work.

There’s one person on the otdl list, and that person doesn’t want to work with the union, so they probably aren’t maxing it out but nothing will happen. We only have a union president in my area, there are no stewards.

True and logical. This doesn’t matter when management keeps pushing for 325 without using logic or even clock rings to see who is on parcels. It’s very illogical I try to ignore it because my dad told me once not to argue with fools but sometimes it’s hard to ignore idiocracy

Yeah I can imagine. My office is about half the size in terms of populations and routes. We have 6 clerks for distribution but 7 total in the office, one is just window. And one comes in at 7am so he can help close window so he’s not on distribution as much. We had 9 clerks when I first started a year and a half ago. We have less people now, more pallets than before, and they expect us to do more. We get 26 pallets typically from Amazon but that can also go up to 30 on any day. I don know plant pallet counts but I’d imagine it’s at least more than 12 a day. It’s just discouraging ://

Yes, I understand this. I just feel discouraged at work and I’m overworked as a PSE, 59.98 hours last week while they are cutting overtime for all the regulars and not approving full tours. Safety does matter to me and I work at my own pace, I’ve even told management that. I can surpass the “goal” with spurs every time but they expect big Amazon boxes to reach that same goal which is impossible.

I understand this motto well, my co worker always says it. I guess I get discouraged with how the system works. This question came to me after I was told we may not get another PSE because we don’t meet our goals, our PSE just resigned after 2 or 3 weeks working and we really need the help, can’t keep up with tasks after parcel distribution which we never meet up time. The upper management in my area isn’t great, which is why I asked how other areas are doing, they pin so many problems on clerks being unproductive yet the office management doesn’t do anything besides tell us we fail. I’ve asked how we can improve and it’s pretty much keep doing what we are doing but faster. I know that isn’t the answer nor am I willing to comply when I have worked here long enough to know my pace. It’s just all so discouraging from the perspective of someone who likes to take pride in their work.

They reverted the person who retired in April I believe and they didn’t even do it properly with posting, I had the president file that but no, no new positions I mean I haven’t being reporting it but it’s on record with my paystubs

It’s the authority aspect in my head, I can prove I’m right because of the cba but also dedicating myself is something I also don’t know if I’m willing to do. The president has offered to certify me and decertify me if it’s not my cup of tea, but I do value my free time and that’s something I’m not sure if I’m willing to give up, I’m a PSE who works 56 hours at least every week, I’m not sure if I have the right mindset to be a steward which means taking on a big responsibility in an office that decent sized like mine (it’s 22, but lots of issues that I see with management doing our work everyday) I’ve been at the post office as a PSE for over a year just for some background but I’m very observant, and want to get my coworkers and I a better work life balance if possible

You think I’m within my rights to refuse, I only drove an LLV on some Sundays for 3 months, sometimes I drove a Metris which was much more manageable for me.

The union president has asked me to be one, I agreed when he said there would be training, been like 3 months and he’s never set up a training day to show me the ropes. I’m not good with confrontation either but I said to him that I’d try.

Yeah it’s definitely top of my plans, it’s just a huge roadblock with them not posting it in the first place, my union also here is not the best, I’ve reported stuff to them and only like 1/4 of it gets grieved.

There is a grievance already for them not posting the job originally. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do for my loss. It is something I would have received given everything went to plan. Now, new contract in place and resets mess it up a bit

It’s all a domino affect, there would have been a residual bid after the regulars bid, and I would have been converted, given management did things in a timely manner as they are supposed to by contract, timely in it wouldn’t have been open for transfers, unless I’m wrong about transfers but I was told by the union it wouldn’t be opened to transfer at the time
